New Windrush Owner
Good Evening.
New member. Looking for help with a few issues I have since picking up a used 2012 Windrush. We picked this van because the layout suits us having a 1yo son. I have removed the top bunk so he has the rear bed has his cot.
First of all on my first trip I lost one of the plastic vents on the passenger side for the refrigerator. Are these vents easy to come by? A quick Google search is not promising. I have taped some plastic to stop water ingress for the time being.
Secondly the bathroom door is useless. Seems very flimsy and pops off the runners easily. I am considering just putting a shower curtain in its place. Are there any better solutions to these sliding doors?
Thanks

Re: New Windrush Owner
Hi, just a word of warning the vents are there for a reason take the plastic off as you have shut off the flow of air and this may cause a big problem with gases seeping into the van .the vents are readily available at most caravan / Motorhome dealers and are made usually by either Dometic or Thetford just measure carefully and order . I have lost a fair few in my time as the buttons that secure the vents to the frames are a design moneyspinner for the manufacturers .

Re: New Windrush Owner
Are you talking about the actual vents or winter covers that attach to the vents.?

Good morning all. The slated plastic vent on the exterior. The frame and bug mesh are still on place. I think i clipped a branch which pulled it off. Drove back last night but couldn't find it.
Van is parked just now and won't be slept in for at least a couple of weeks.

Excellent I will take a look.
We enjoyed our first 3 nights with our 1 yo Son and Dog. Was stressful at first but got into the swing of it.
One issue I had was finding an auto fas lpg refill in the North East of Scotland. Luckily I had my portable stove.

Re: New Windrush Owner
Thanks for the replies. Auto-Sleepers spares dept are hopefully sorting me out with a replacement vent.
After a bit more reading I need to get some winter vents as I intend to use the van all year round (in Scotland). So these winter vents replace the current ones or are they an insert?
Cheers
Graham

Re: New Windrush Owner
Graham ... your original post suggests that you have lost the cover for the vent. The vent is securely (or should be!!) attached to the van. All you require is a replacement vent cover. You say that AS are fixing you up with a replacement vent - a bit of conflicting names.
The replacement vent cover is also known as a "winter cover". Google "Dometic fridge vent cover" and you will get numerous results.
Good luck. Bob

Sorry for the confusion.
The part I am missing is the normal louvered vent.

I thought the einter cover essentially blanked off/restricted the air flow by around 60 percent? Something like this?

Re: New Windrush Owner
If anyone is interested I got the replacement vent and the winter vent covers from auto-sleeper spares department. Impressed with the service. I am going through the list of things that are missing from the van and they have been very helpful.
Cheers

Thanks Ian.
I was already on my way north and assumed the llg would be easy to get. Lesson learned. Asda Garthdee has an lpg pump so now have a full tank for the next trip.

Re: New Windrush Owner
Hi, yes mine is also 2012 Windrush and the bathroom door kept popping off the rail. The slats ease loose over time. A quick n cheap solution is to run a few strips of very tough/tick duck tape along the inside of the entire door width...I did this in three places... near the top, bottom and in the middle. Stayed good so far!
Hope that helps (=;
