Hello...It’s great to be here!
Hi everyone,
I’m Dave and my wife is Jen (we’ll both be posting on here using the same username).
We’re both in our mid-late 40’s (no kids). I’m a full time, self employed drummer & drum teacher and Jen works at martial arts & boxing fitness gym.
Previously the majority of our holidays have been foreign holidays (land based) as well as cruises (we’ve been on several and I even proposed to Jen whilst on our first cruise in Norway). Having said that, we also own a tent and have been on a few long weekend camping trips too.
Last year we decided that we wanted to explore a lot more of the UK and initially we were looking at caravans. However, given that we wouldn’t be able to store it at home, our only option would’ve been to keep it in storage - which would be costly and not enable us to be spontaneous with it. As such, our attention started drifting towards campervans. We were thinking about a VW pop top van (a T5/T6 transporter conversion) and even went as far as booking one to hire to try out in April. This obviously didn’t happen as the whole world went into lockdown at this point....
The YoubeTube channel ‘Jits Into The Sunset’ had a big part to play in us considering an Autosleeper. The more we thought about it, the more we liked the idea of being able to stand up in the van at all times, the modular approach to the living/bedroom area, the kitchen area, having hot & cold water and having a toilet/shower - all in a compact vehicle that could easily fit on our drive!!
We finally managed to find one in our price range at a great dealer near Western-Super-Mare.....We viewed it this week and it’s in great condition and we fell in love with it. The dealership are giving it a fresh MOT (if any advisories they will fix), a new cam belt, full inhabitaion check (fixing/sorting anything they find needs doing), deep clean/valet and providing a 6 month warranty. We are well chuffed!! We will be picking it up in 2 weeks after they have got everything done for a proper handover - we can’t wait!!
I’m sure we will be on here a lot over the next few weeks/months with lots of questions (so we hope you guys have got lots of patience...lol)

Brilliant! Welcome to the fun! We're Trooper owners but thinking about upping to a Symbol or similar in the next few months.
