Kingham fridge
Any ideas please, away in Kingham at the moment, unplugged from why this morning fridge had been on mains, operating fine. Arrived at next site, plugged in as normal, fridge on auto power select, will not operate on mains electric, coming up with service code 8? Still works fine on gas and 12v if start van.

Re: Kingham fridge
Error code 8 = Low power supply, blown fuse or defective cct.board.
Don’t know if you have meter with you or ok to use one but removing bottom Fridge vent will give access to connections and should be able to check if power is getting to fridge. The result of that will tell if the problem is on fridge or not.I have assumed you have checked the mains breakers in van. Hope you get it sorted soonest.

Re: Kingham fridge
Very good point about mains breakers, when we had the caravan one used to trip while in transit. Once had a Warden taking the supply pole apart, only to find my fault due to trip switch.

Thank you, unfortunately no meter with me, have tripped and reset breakers, no stand alone one for fridge though?

Re: Kingham fridge
I assume you’ve got a Thetford N3000 series fridge if you’re getting an error code 8 when in 230V AC mode. It may well be a failed AC heater element, which was our experience. I wrote up how to diagnose and replace it here:
