Swivel Seats
I am personally no longer active on here. However, I make a brief return to ask for advice for my son in law.
He has bought a Vivaro van which he plans to turn into a day van / camper.
He wants to change the cab seats for two single swivel seats.
Any advice welcomed.
The other thing he'd like to know is what non Vauxhall seats can be used - and still retain the seat belt pre-tensioners?
Again any advice would be most welcome
Many Thanks
Mikeyval

Re: Swivel Seats
I fitted one to the pax seat of a previous Duo. Be aware, they all raise the seat, clearly, but some raise it absurdly, ours was 25mm, ok, but still takes pax eyeline into the area above that wiped by the wipers.
It was blxxdy heavy too.
It was stiff and hard to turn, in spite of careful fitting, lubricating.
Took the thing off and thankfully managed to sell it!!!!!!
Your call though!

Re: Swivel Seats
Are you talking about replacing the front double passenger seat and single drivers seat for 2 single seaters that swivel.
If it already has 2 singles then ignore the info below.
I did a self build on a brand new Vivaro in 2011. It came with the double passenger/single drivers seat which is the standard van configuration.
My plan was to swap out the double for a single and fit swivels on the 2 singles.
Before I even got round to investigating swivel bases, the plan was scuppered by the total lack of factory (or safe aftermarket) single seats. Talking to another Vivavo owner at the time, if you could find one the price would have been prohibitively expensive.
I ended up binning the whole plan.
That was in 2011 though and conversions on the Vivaro are more popular nowadays so things may have improved since then.

Re: Swivel Seats
Well his van is 05 I think - so falls into the bracket you just highlighted.
Yes - the plan is to dump the double / replace with a single --- or that was the plan ?
Thanks

Re: Swivel Seats
Just a thought, could a second drivers single be used on the passenger side?
As mine was a new van, I was looking for a new (or nearly new) seat.
Being a 2005 van I’m sure there are many Vivavo’s around that age being broken.
