ASOF Rally Flags
Since ASOF rally flags were last discussed on the forum sometime ago we have approached a number of contacts but have been badly let down and quoted silly money just not making it a viable option for us to pursue. However, we are currently in talks with a company regarding flags bearing the ASOF logo if anyone is interested ?
Size:: 60cm x 90cm (2ft x 3ft)
Colour: White
Orientation: Landscape
Printed: Single Sided
Material:: 100D polyester
Fixtures: 2 Brass Grommets
This image gives a rough idea of how the flag will appear but we understand the quality is equal quality to flags used by other clubs. It is made from a durable polyester material and has two brass grommets for attaching to a pole with cord, cable ties, or flag bungees. We have the option on future orders of having a sleeve design to sleeve onto a pole if members prefer this option.
After some negotiating we are able to supply these to members for around £20 each which should include the postage costs. (this just covers our costs) To keep the cost down we had to stick to a single sided flag and our first order has to be a minimum of 10 units, so we need to know how many members might be interested in having one? Expected waiting time is around 3 weeks from placing our order.
If we have any members interested in supporting us at rallies and who would be happy to purchase one for £20 then please note your interest in this thread or PM me direct if preferred.
Regards

Thanks for your support Peter - Much appreciated
While I'm at it, do we have any other takers on these flags?
We have tried to get the price down on these as we understand members may feel they are a little pricey, the only way we can negotiate further is by increasing order numbers which for a small forum like ASOF is not really possible unless interest is higher. To put the cost in perspective, most manufacturers we have approached have quoted us in excess of £60 per flag! So this really is the best price we have been able to secure. The flags are sourced from the same flag makers as used by some of the other motorhome forums who obviously can order in much higher qty's to get a better deal on the prices.

Flags
I'd be happy to put one on my dashboard when parked up or fix it up as a sun shade for the windscreen.
Hmm, sunshade, now there's another thought.....
This forum has been extremely helpful to me over various issues and I'd like to 'fly the flag' in return !
It's my birthday in early July and I keep being asked what I'd like - sorted.

Re: ASOF Rally Flags
Just an update regarding rally flags bearing the ASOF logo - We have now placed an order and these are expected to be with us in 2-3 weeks.
Those interested can you please let us know as qty's are limited - We do not have a definite price at this stage as they are made in the USA and we expect to have to pay an import tax in addition to the price we have paid - Cost to us is around £15 each (without the unknown duty) When we have further details I will post again with a total cost incl P&P for any members interested.
I would like to thank Dago for the generous contribution towards the funding of this order, which hopefully will allow us to bring them to members as cheaply as we can.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Dave - The flags cost £15 each (£12 each + £3 P&P)
The actual cost to us is higher than this, but because of forum member Dago's kindness in helping to subsidize the cost, this has bought the price down hopefully to an affordable level for those interested.

Flying with pride!!
Got a "Life's a breeze" flag pole and ground stake which seem really good quality, also a pair of flag bungees....
It's a bit overcast here today, so no blue skies but it's a little breezy so erected our ASOF flag and it flapped away in the breeze like a good-un Neighbors will think I've lost the plot... but who cares

I'll have to wait until herself goes to her Day Centre on Tuesday/Wednesday, then I can have my wicked way with me flag, especially as it might involve a ladder !

ASOF Flags
When we had the Harmony first time round (1999) I decided to clean the side of the roof up a wooden ladder that had spent too much time outdoors and our driveway was on a bit of a slope. The world looks a different place on yer back with my head 'resting' on a concrete kerb !!
A neighbour did come over to see if I was OK, but us blokes are made of stern stuff so jumped up as though nothing had happened (as you do when you've been a pr*t) chucked the ladder, which had split into 2 halves down the middle, down the garden !!
When I put a large transfer on the roof with the reg. no. I used an adjacent flat roof to get across to the van roof.
Where we are now is dead level and there's not a wooden ladder in sight, and I don't think I'll be going anywhere near the roof this time (the reg. no. is still up there after all this time, the 4 previous owners, (2002-2011), probably didn't even know it was there ?) -but I do need some height, mmmm .............

ASOF flags
Take one 1960's hand made 3 piece split cane fishing rod, (I made it in 1964)
Insert the end of section 2 (already inserted into section 1) into the pushfit plumbing tee piece vertical orifice,
Insert section 3 into horizontal orifice of tee piece and hang aforesaid flag from section 3,
Insert whole assembly into short table leg already inserted into Fiamma tripod,
e voila !!
Now its stopped raining on my wife's Day Centre days I can do a piccie.
All I need now is someone to guide this numpty into the black art of getting a picture into this text box !
ps, no ladders or flat roofs were harmed in the making of this 'flag-pole' !!
pps, thanks, I'm still in one piece !!!!

Re: ASOF Rally Flags
Hi there,
Totally off topic - but I like the sneaky idea of putting a huge Registration Number up on the roof!!
Brilliant idea. The problem is that, like switching your lights on in daylight, it loses impact once everyone else does it; still worth thinking about though!
Stay safe!
Best regards,
