I wish to replace the leisure battery on my Nuevo (reg 2003). It looks a difficult job - I'm not particularly "handy". How do you do this job!!?

Hi Besty,
To replace the battery you will have to remove the drivers seat with its swivel, 2 bolts at the front and 2 Allen (hexagon) screws at the back these are easier to remove if you part rotate the seat to gain access to the bolts and screws. The seat with swivel is heavy so help with lifting it may be required. The allen screws are quite accessible but the bolts at the front are more awkward to get at.

Replacing a leisure battery Nuevo 2001 Empty Thanks

Brian, Thanks for that. I've looked at buying a battery but the ones that I have seen have a height measurement of 220mm whereas the one on at the moment (Greenpower 85amph) measures 210mm high scratch head . I think there is an extra 10mm under the seat so will have a go!!

Hi Betsy, I have the same van, both my batteries went kaput recently and having disability problems I wouldn't be able to change them myself, in the end, I phoned the RAC (member through the arrival scheme) and talking to them, they suggested that they supply and fit, explained that the one was under the seat, but the patrolman come out and changed them both. they were a bit more expensive (but not much, About £40.00) the batteries are guaranteed for 4 years.
But I didn't have any hassle, and if they stop working anywhere in the country I just ring the RAC and they will replace them.
