C&CC sites not opening at all this year
The C&CC have published this list of sites that will not be opening at all in 2020 regardless of when lockdown is lifted.......
The following Club Sites will not open during the 2020 season:
- Boroughbridge
- Haltwhistle
- Inverewe
- Jedburgh
- Lauder
- Llanystumdwy
- Minehead
- Oban
- Oldbury Hill
- Slindon
- Speyside
- St Davids
If you have a booking for one of these sites, you should already have received an email from us. You now have the option to either move your booking to any available date over the next 18 months – or switch to an alternative site – without charge. You can also choose to receive a full refund.
Seems a bit strange that even if they could open from August , they won't . Particularly strange for Boroughbridge which is an open-all-year site.

If the alarmist Saturday papers are to be believed, we're in for some sort of restrictions for a whole year. When my wife read the articles she said, Great, no football!

Could this have something to do with staffing ? I imagine recruitment and training have been affected and it might be impossible to get enough staff in place for all sites as soon as lockdown is lifted.

As regards staffing, this statement also appears on their website....Quilter wrote:Paulmold wrote:The C&CC have published this list of sites that will not be opening at all in 2020 regardless of when lockdown is lifted

Our campsites remain staffed and many of our workforce live on site for security.
Government guidance states that, ‘Where people are staying in caravan parks as interim abodes where their primary residence is not available, they may continue to do so’. We are currently assisting individuals in this situation on a case by case basis. We have also made many of our campsites available to NHS staff who require somewhere to stay.

I have read about a planned non renewal going on by members on another motorhome forum due to C&CC "the friendly club" treatment of full timers being barred from their sites, whereas CMC have allowed on certain sites.

Has there been any explanation why these particular sites such as refurbishment etc.

Re: C&CC sites not opening at all this year
It could be that there are a range of reasons that those sites won't open and the C&CC have just chosen to list them all together. So a couple could be refurbishment, some due to staffing issues, maybe others have temporary access problems etc. It is bad PR for them to announce such a list, without saying why though.

Possible explanation given on FB is that those sites may be leased and have negotiated rent holiday for a fixed period.
