Habitation door stiff to open&close
Hi I have a Burford 18 reg. The habitation door has become stiff to open &close.I removed the shock/abs/damper and it seems to close ok.Any ideas.Thank you regards Mark.

Re: Habitation door stiff to open&close
Perhaps the shock/abs/damber is exerting pressure and moving the chassis slightly?
I notice that my Pollensa hab door can sometimes become a bit stiffer to open/close depending on whether the van is parked on level ground or a slope for any length of time, presumably due to slight distortion of the chassis/body shell.

You may also find that if the habitation side of the van has been in direct sun for some time, then due to the heat, metals used in the manufacture of the door and its frame will have expanded such that the original door frame gaps have shrunk and thereby cause an interference between the two.

Is the door opening and closing ok, when the damper at the top of the door has been removed ? If so, it may indicate the problem lies with the door damper, which is what happened on ours. I lubricated the damper, and all has been fine since.
