camera issue
hi folks
looking for some advise please, have asked Auto Sleepers who were less than helpful,
we have a 2013 Nuevo, and are having issues with the reversing camera going blank,
first it was intermittent, now it only shows AV2 very briefly, then goes off.
hope some one can advise?
Many Thanks:)

Re: camera issue
The camera system on our 2013 Worcester packed up in similar circumstances two weeks ago and, according to replies on here and other forums, it's either the camera itself or the mirror mounted monitor. I spoke to DRW Electronics who used to supply A/S and they said at the time they were specifying the cheapest possible kit so, I suspect, it has come to the end of its useful life. I had intended speaking again to DRW at the motorhome show in Haarogate and buying a Sony twin lens system but the show was cancelled. Just waiting for life to return to more normality and will be going ahead to replace it.

If, as you say, the monitor indicates a signal of some sort (AV2 in your case), then I would suggest that the monitor appears to be working and it is more likely that you have a camera failure.taffykriss wrote:hi folks

I had to have my camera replaced last year - I had experienced similar sorts of symptoms as the ones you describe.
After all, the camera is exposed to all weathers (rain/sun etc.) right from the time of installation - so maybe 6+ years is not too bad.

Re: camera issue
It is indeed the camera and there isn't a life expectancy of a decent make - which the original on the 2013 isn't. I have changed mine and I wrote an article on how to do it in this month's (or was it last month's? MMM) so if you can get one you can find out how to do it. I would think that Dave at DRM would still post a kit to you, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't.
