Ford Duetto 94 thermal blinds. Help!
Hi everyone,
We are looking to spend Xmas day in our lovely old ford duetto by the coast. Obviously we are going to freeze to death with the marvellous front curtains we have.
My question is? Would anyone know where I could get a set of front thermal windscreen blinds from? As I’m struggling to find any online with good reviews or for the age of the veicle.
Many thanks

I'd go for Taylormade in preference.
I think they are marginally better covers, and the ladies who run the firm are very amenable and helpful.
Just a thought . . . you are thinking of external covers I presume. Internal ones are about as much use as a chocolate teapot!!
(I exaggerate slightly , but they are nowhere near as good at insulating the front of the van, or preventing condensation inside the windscreen.)

We had Taylormade external covers on our 1999 MK5 Transit Duetto and they were very good. Actually went to see Taylor's and tried the covers on before buying.
However, today, their website says that there is no stock until after Christmas!

I've used both external and internal and yes, though the external give better insulation there is a downside nobody has mentioned. In order to remove, obviously you need to exit your van. If chucking down with rain it's not much fun but the other point is if faced with needing to depart and drive off rapidly for whatever reason, exiting the van might not be wise...but you have no choice. With internal screens you can do that and just go.
It's something to bear in mind.

If the weather is particularly bad or you feel uncomfortable about a place you can use the external screens inside but they are far more efficient and don't cause condensation if used outside. My first screens (on a '99 Duetto) were internal but all since have been external and I wouldn't revert.

You could always buy both internal and external! I sold my external which i'd bought "used" after finding i rarely used it so put it on ebay and bidding went crazy as used external screen covers for a Mk5 are rare as hens teeth. It sold for £20 more than what i'd paid!Shaun&Chez wrote:So many choices.

I have Taylormade external ones which are great. The ladies demonstrated on a transit van of the same age as my Duetto and even suggested a stepladder to overcome my worries of reaching up as I am solo. I use a small folding step which takes up little space.

I have had condensation / ice on the inside of the Duetto's windscreen when using the Taylormade covers. The circumstances were that it was well sub-zero in the morning and I took the covers off BEFORE starting the engine and warming things up.
