Winter vent covers
I have a Thetford fridge, and the vents on the outside measure 480mm long x 183mm deep, measured to the outside edges with a sewing tape measure
Can anyone point me in the right direction of the correct size/part number/order code for the winter vent covers please. I contacted Thetford direct but they didnt bother responding. I dont want to buy the wrong ones.
Thanks
Sally

I bet that’s the one. The sizes in the description certainly agree. I searched ebay for that, but I may have been distracted by the Clarke’s bootsGromit wrote:Probably these Sally, but hold on until someone with a van like yours confirms.

What happened to the covers you ordered in Sept 2018?

You had to ask didnt you After trying to fit them for ages, I realised that I owned a Thetford fridge, but had ordered Dometic covers.PLOUGHLIN wrote:Sally wrote:I bet that’s the one. Unfortunately, as a spendthrift, I can sometimes order in haste. The annoying thing is that I've lost one of the buttons from the covers so I cant even sell them on!!!

If it will help you sell them, you can buy just the buttons....

Re: Winter vent covers
I’ve got my Thetford vent covers, but I can’t quite work out how they are fitted and removed. I assume they line up and click into place, but how do you remove them? I know it will be really obvious, so go easy on me.
Thanks

To remove, ask someone who's not proud of fingernails to claw at the gap at the top of the fitted cover, and pull the cover outwards; then unhook off the bottom louvre. Always frightened that the cover will snap. .. but ok so far!

I expected something more technical.Cymro wrote:Sally wrote:I’ve got my Thetford vent covers, but I can’t quite work out how they are fitted and removed. I assume they line up and click into place, but how do you remove them? I know it will be really obvious, so go easy on me.

I’m not risking my nails, not after what I’ve paid, so I’ll find someone as and when needed.

Re: Winter vent covers
The covers just snap in, and likewise are tugged out. I suspect that you could pop them out by using two coins of large diameter (I still have 1d coppers for such purposes!).

1d. Those were the days. I remember getting 8 blackjacks and 8 fruit salads for that.Cymro wrote:The covers just snap in, and likewise are tugged out. I suspect that you could pop them out by using two coins of large diameter (I still have 1d coppers for such purposes!).

But seriously, I do appreciate the help. I could see a way of releasing them, but your comments make it clear.
