Hello from Sunny Wigan
Hello, my (user) name is Geddart (or Geddy - its a nickname :)
I bought a mint, 45k miles Autosleeper Clubman GL on VW T4b chassis in early July 2019 and I love it.
Prior to that I used / owned a very basically converted T4 Caravelle for 7 years. It introduced the Mrs and I to a new way of life that I had been dreaming about for years, ever since I hired a coachbuilt in Germany for 2 weeks back in 2007. That will be going up for sale soon. I do love my VWs and I think its fair to say I am heavily biased towards VW metal. I just sold a VR6 Corrado (remember them?) and I have a nice, uncomplicated Golf SDi as a daily driver. I am a good person to ask about VW stuff, but only the OLDER stuff, like pre T5. I did a lot of Beetles as a 20 something, although that ship has now sailed into a far, far sunset.
I am mostly an off grid camper. I dont really use sites much. Having said that, I remain objective about any good ones I come across.
I will be looking to pick peoples brains for general stuff, and am currently in the market for replacement blackout curtains for the cab (those green ones are too light) and a used but not knackered Fiamma F45 as well as hopefully usefully contributing to anything I can when I can.
Thanks :)

Re: Hello from Sunny Wigan
Cheers everyone, nice to meet you.
After a very wet weekend in the Yorkshire Dales my thoughts have turned towards getting the Clubman Waxoyl-ed up underneath ready for winter. Has anyone had this done at all?
Theres a guy in Rugby who reckons hes the best in the world at this, steam clean, rust brush and then full Black Waxoyl with cavities injected with clear Waxoyl.
I want to keep my clubman in tip top order for as long as possible and having owned older vehicles for many years I am well familiar with the importance of rust protection / protection form the winter elements of wet, sluch and of course our old friend Road Salt.
Maybe I should start a new subject posting for this, but I am wary of naming names and prices - although surely this will help us all?
Cheers,
Geddy.

Re: Hello from Sunny Wigan
Hi Geddy,
I also love my VW`s have / had 3 T4`s, pity they didn`t do a larger MH on a VW, I did have a Topaz, then a 2003 Anniversary Clubman, AS do not make any bigger ones, so have gone for a Ford, still good though, use a Topaz as my car and day van.
I have had all my vans waxolyd , will do when I get the other one tomorrow, all passed the MOT`s with no advisories and the tester said the vans are ace. so I recommend waxoyl,
Good luck and happy travelling,
Best regards,
Margaret

Re: Hello from Sunny Wigan
Could I please have contact details for your guy Margaret? Name / Number or Business name so I can find it on the net maybe?
I would rather give the job to someone who is in the frame and familiar with what it is we are trying to achieve.
Many, many thanks,
Geddy.
