Cupboard light
I recently fitted one of these (you can’t really call it ‘fitting’, it’s a self adhesive piece of metal and magnets) to the cupboard next to the bathroom. I have to say it’s transformed it. It comes on when I open the door and goes off automatically. Seems to have a long battery life, which are inbuilt and chargeable via the small supplied lead.
No more fumbling around in the dark, this gives a really bright but pleasant light that is really effective. It’s so nice I want to use one elsewhere, I just need to find a place

Thanks, Sally. I can immediately think of 2 uses at home (but not in the Nuevo). Was unaware of such a device, so many thanks indeed for drawing attention to it.

Further thanks from me too, that’s a perfect solution for lighting under the Kingham bed

Re: Cupboard light
Well I’ve picked up lots of tips and tricks from others (most of which are outside my skill level*) that I thought I would mention this. It’s not only effective but it looks the part too.
Sally
*I really want to utilise the space under the bench seats/beds at the side of the van. Plus take the ends off to access them from outside. But it looks a bit complicated, so I may just stick to sticking lights up everywhere

Re: Cupboard light
Earlier Warwicks/Sussex have the side bench frames made of only 1"X1" wood, later ones I think are metal. With the metal ones removing the end panels to give access from outside the back doors is a great idea, not so much on the wooden frames though as the end panel gives strength to the construction. I'd love to be able to access from the ends but I have wooden frames so don't feel the frame is strong enough to remove the end panel.

That is a very good point. The frame on mine is wooden, so a rethink is required.Paulmold wrote:Earlier Warwicks/Sussex have the side bench frames made of only 1"X1" wood, later ones I think are metal. Hi - yes, I went for the daylight one. I wanted a nice bright light. I like it and it’s certainly not harsh or too bright, well not for me. I suppose the warm light will be that bit softer.Dbvwt wrote:Looks good, better get my order in before you lot buy them all!!

Hello paul just to add we removed the end panels on ours 2 years ago great for getting the bbq out standing outside. No problems and we have tested the bed.
They are only held in with a couple of screws so would not add much to the strength.
Removed the draw unit as well, much better storage area for chairs ect. End panel now held on with vecro.

These look the same £24 for 2
1 for the wardrobe and one for the bathroom as the light is behind you whilst washing.

Re: Cupboard light
Well I’m delighted with mine and I think you will be as well. Once you’ve tried it in the cupboard you won’t go back (other than to keep playing with it by opening the door )jennyandpeter wrote:Thanks Sally

Re: Cupboard light
That's good to know it can be done. Not sure it would help me though as we have 2 Duvalays under the nearside bed which fill that up but it would give easier access to my tyre inflator and tools which I store in the back corner. As for the drawer, my better half has that with 3 boxes in it for clothes, the corner cubby hole used for my store of beer and wine. So probably not something I will do but useful to know it can be done if ever we change our storage methods.jennyandpeter wrote:Hello paul just to add we removed the end panels on ours 2 years ago great for getting the bbq out standing outside. Re: Cupboard light
Would you say it’s easy and simple to remove the end panel for your average non-woodworking girl. I assume that I would unscrew the screws that I can see from the inside of the bed. Is that correct?jennyandpeter wrote:Hello paul just to add we removed the end panels on ours 2 years ago great for getting the bbq out standing outside. No problems and we have tested the bed.

Not a problem just unscrew the screws in the end plate.

So far Amazon seems to have supplies: mine's arriving on Saturday (in theory)! Thanks for the tip-off, Sally. Going into a (home) kitchen cupboard in a corner under the work surface.

We have a metal bed frame with the removable end panel, haven't used it yet As I have the Thule back box on most of the time and carn't open the back doors fully .Paulmold wrote:Earlier Warwicks/Sussex have the side bench frames made of only 1"X1" wood, later ones I think are metal. Nice light idea Sally.

Re: Cupboard light
I've got a couple of similar lights from Lidl but not rechargeable, one in wardrobe, one in fridge.
