I was examining my recent Prius "fixed price" servicing bill. I noticed an item of £8.33 plus VAT for the battery for the key remote. Consumed with curiosity about the expensive battery used in these keyless entry remotes I opened it up to look. It is a simple CR1632 button cell, available for around £1 to £2. A 500%-plus mark-up. Nice work if you can get it! Now I wonder what else I am being ripped off for - that is, apart from the bulk engine oil. I suppose the answer is EVERYTHING! censored!

Have you ever been to a branch of Timpson for a wristwatch battery? Just about the same price, £8-10 for a £1 battery and 30 seconds labour.

Actually my 'local' Toyota dealer is excellent, there is another one closer but I used them once and never again. They have serviced our various Toyotas for about 8 years, the bill has always been as quoted, the MOT is £35 and they wash and hoover the car for free!!
They are in Chesterfield

I can only speak about the Toyota dealers in Knaresborough and Stoke. I found both to be very corporate and impersonal. Efficient yes, nice place to be, not really. And lots of cars without personality, unlike Mrs SDA's Yaris Verso which had bags of character.
