Dometic Aircon system
Does anyone know where I can get a new remote for my dometic air conditioning system P/N 52074?
Intermittengly works with a thump but that's not really helpful.
Spell checker doesn't like that was asking for zircon before I checked!!!

Not sure where they got it from but when I bought the Worcester in January from Stewart Mouland they noticed the remote was missing and ordered/fitted it without me asking. Maybe worth giving them a call and asking? They seem really helpful.

Alternatively, if you have the original and it can be made to work intermittently, a cheap Chinese "learning remote" off Ebay/Amazon could be a good solution. I bought a £2.99 one and it works really well - just "teach" it the codes and then it will replay them, and sensibly doesn't forget them when you change the batteries!

Re: Dometic Aircon system
If you really must have air con make sure it is suitable for your van. Mine was fitted by AS as standard equipment. It was a model suitable for vehicles up to 5.5 metres, my van is 5.99 metres so it was never 'fit for purpose', it was in fact useless so I had it removed and another rooflight fitted in its place. I bought van secondhand with warranty do I could have claimed. Maximum claim £1000 per claim . Units are sealed and cannot be re-gassed so would have had to have new unit at cost of £2000 so I would have had to pay £1000. It needs hook up to work. I don't use hook up sites during summer so the unit still would be of no use.

Re: Dometic Aircon system
I don't often use the system but given that the temps in London were so high I had the idea of sleeping in the van on the drive with aircon.
Frustrated that the remote wouldn't work eventually the careful thump solved the problem and I have slept in it twice; certainly better than the house although I have turned the system off at 10:30 to save the neighbours having to hear the din.
