Hi all, anyone know if the A4574 Upton and past Devil’s Bridge is drivable in an 8mtr  Corinium....I fancy driving up there this summer and finding a campsite!

I know that’s a winding road but other than that, there’s not a lot of info on?

The Drive - The Mountain road from Rhayader to Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge is a wild and beautiful route passing through the Elan Valley and across the Cambrian Mountains. Start LD6 5LB - finish SY23 3JW

If you mean the B4574, then the answer is yes. Some narrow sections with passing places, but you can see a long way ahead and react accordingly. Beautiful road and there is a lovely little site right by the river at Cwmystwth. Fantastic views from the higher sections and several places to stop.

I’ve found that small campsite looks great, provisionally booked in...a very dark site too, bortal 2 rating, only darker in the North Sea great for stargazing etc...

I think you will,be very pleased with the site. The whole of the Elan Valley has dark sky status. If I am around when you are there I would be happy to drop of a few notes (local knowledge ) for you.

Cheers, it looks great, the farmer was easy going too, apparently they don’t advertise too much because they don’t want too many campers...can’t fault that...I’ll be there hopefully end of July through 8th August fr the new moon.and ....clear sky????
