TRIDENT, X REG internal lighting
WE ARE LOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT COVERS FOR OUR INTERNAL ELECTRIC STRIP LIGHTS. THE PRESENT ONES ARE CRACKED AND BRITTLE. AUTOSLEEPERS DON'T STOCK THEM ANY MORE.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE WE MAY BE ABLE TO FIND A SUPPLIER? WE WOULD CONSIDER NEW OR USED.

Re: TRIDENT, X REG internal lighting
A photo of an existing one would make it easier, as Auto-Sleepers changed what they fitted quite frequently - but it's very likely that the existing ones are 2-tube Labcraft Trilite.
The original fluorescent ones come up on Ebay regularly, or you can change them for the later LED type, which I think are the same size and can be used as a straight swap replacement. Unfortunately the LED version is really expensive!

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I have looked them up online and they seem to be exactly right.
Force4 Chandlery are advertising them on 'Google images' and we have a branch nearby so we will pop in and confirm that they fit.... costly, aren't they?
Very grateful to you.

For a ship's chandler's that's not as expensive as I would have expected - they are usually pricier than anywhere else. At £39 it's probably worth just changing out the whole assembly for the LED version, as they don't have the warm-up delay and (sometimes) flickering that you can get with the fluorescent originals.
There have been a few threads here about converting original fluorescent Trilites to LED, but if the clear covers on yours are shot, that's not really an option.

Re: TRIDENT, X REG internal lighting
Just to round off our conversation (April) regarding my internal lights in my Trident, I have finally got round to fitting them.
1 on the wall next to the sofa,
1 above the sink and
1 overhead in the centre of the ceiling.
The lighting is wonderful, they fit the length and width of the space perfectly. However, the new fitments are much shallower in depth than the old ones and so they reveal the rough-cut edging of the vinyl surround. I shall think of some decorative edge in due time.
All in all a very pleasing outcome. Thank you very much for your advice.
PS I am now wondering if I can replace my headlamps for the newer 'daylight' white lights - any comments?

It's quite a complex subject, so may be worth starting another thread with an appropriate subject line.
At simplest, there are whiter halogen bulbs which just replace the existing ones. Some of the solutions that people used until recently, such as after-market HID kits, are no longer legal, thankfully. But there are other measures which can help.
