Remote locking habatation door
Hi.
Noticed the habatation door wasn't locking with the fob. Upon inspection I found that the power cable at the bottom of the door had got jammed between the door and door frame and cut the wires. To say I am annoyed is an understatement. Very poor design. It is fixable, but how do I prevent it from happening again?
Cheers

Re: Remote locking habatation door
On my Nuevo I was concerned that the door locking cable was flapping around a bit and could be accidentally pulled so I neatened it with a couple of cable clips, one to the floor near the exit from the fridge space and another on the wall at the side of the door. That solved the problem completely.

As the cable flexes every time the door is used it is only a matter of time before the cables fatigue and break..

That is a bit pessimistic! How often does the cable on your Hoover fracture even though you keep rewinding it?

I had a similar problem (although not with the loss of function) caused when the now infamous door retainer failed and the cable getting overstretched when the door flew open in a high wind. Have to agree about the poor design, it's awkward to get to and not easy to sort. I've reinforced the insulation with plastic tape (a few times ) and keep an eye on it for any deterioration.

Re: Remote locking habatation door
Thank you for this information. I have had repeated problems with our 2018 Nuevo. Just found that the sensor on the door frame was loose and a piece of plastic was probably interfering with the electrical contacts. Now tidied up / tightened and remote locking working again. The screws in the fixing look too short??
