Nuevo ES 2008 Empty Nuevo ES 2008

Post by Fleurat Wed Mar 06, 2019 8:36 pm

We have recently purchased a Nuevo but after replacing the battery in the keyfob (marked with a triangle and circle) have been unable to remotely control the awning and entry lights. The key fob  lights up and the awning and entry lights do work when switched on manually. As we are first time "motorhomers" we would appreciate any advice etc. biggrin

I have a similar model and from memory it will depend on the settings on the control panel. You can check the awning light on the contol panel without using the key fob. If that works then I think the others will too.
Hope this helps

If you have a small box mounted on the floor behind the driver's seat or in the bed box, Sargent EM50 unit. This controls the operation of the step in/out and awning light on when unlocking or locking the van. It depends on three small jumpers next to the fuses. The pale blue bits in this picture.

Nuevo ES 2008 P1010310

Top Jumper (missing so disabled) does step in on Lock
Middle Jumper does step out on Unlock
Bottom Jumper does awning light on on Unlock

If you have the unit PM me your email and I can send a PDF of the operation and fuse definition.

If you don't have the Sargent unit, can't help.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately we don't have a unit behind the drivers seat or bed box. The lights do work manually  but not with the remote fob. Do we have to go to a dealer to have a code put in?

With the EM50 (or 40) unit it is just a matter of inserting the jumpers in the required place.

What PSU is fitted in your van. If it is the Sargent EC325 or 328 unit there should be a EM50 somewhere.

The operation is not controlled by the base vehicle EMU or Canbus system.

If you look on page 2 and scroll down to strip lighting posted by Nicolascross there is a few things you can try.
Mine now seem to work fine with either power button on or off.

If you have the MES control panel, as I do on my Nuevo EK 08 then, you have to have the front and back lights switched on. You will then be able to switch lights on even from outside as you approach van. allthumbz
