A/S Inca El 2006 Damp on wall next to door
I have an ongoing problem with damp between the door frame and the adjacent fridge boarding panel. the damp spreads from the floor, upwards along the edge of the door frame under the rubber fitting surrounding the door.It is also affecting the base of the fridge board panel.I have had the exterior seam resealed twice to no avail. It is difficult to trace the origins of the damp. Could it come from the door fitting. The lower door does not fit very well, and there is a gap when the door is closed. (Is a new door and frame Incl integral fly screen required?)

You describe the layout shown below I think.
I would remove the blind structure from the window above the fridge and look for signs of water ingress there and do the same with the fridge vents removed.
There are vents in the side of the footwell of the habitation door that can let in road water but did not suffer your problem with my Inca (pictured below).
The door frame seal could also be the culprit but I read that has already been tried.

Many thanks, Peter. Have removed fridge Vents and seems OK. , but thought I had identified a problem there when I fitted Winter vent covers. They seemed to throw water into the vent. However this damp has occurred without winter vents. Will try the Blind removal route and the door seals.

Could it be from the fridge itself ?
Our fridge is usually stuffed full. If stuff touches the fins at the back there are 2 effects: ice forming on the fins and melting when the offending item is moved and water running onto the food item itself from the fins. All too often the water then runs out the bottom of the fridge and onto the floor in front or, if the van is on a slight tilt, under the fridge or into the adjacent locker.
I know about it and do a daily check and mop up but, possibly, in your case, you have not seen this water and it has soaked into the fabric of the van.

Many thanks for the reply. I have removed the fridge vents and it seems dry at the rear of the fridge. The wall is damp for 6inches upwards, and a half inch wide from the floor adjacent to the wall/door frame junction. It also spreads along the floor to the fridge boarding, where it is quite damp and spongey. It could be from the fridge, or the door frame seal.

Similar to Quilter's theory relating to the fridge, is there a drain hole near the bottom that might be blocked so when defrosting, the water simply runs out beneath the door?

Probably much too late for you but I had a habitation check recently and they discovered some old and minor damp in the same place. The garage suggested it was the door seal at the lower right corner - a design fault in that the door frame is straight but the bodywork is curved at that point. Certainly there was a lot of extra sealant on the corners of the lower part of the door frame which seems to have solved the problem.

I had a habitation check with a local repairer who diagnosed seepage/ingress through the top of the fridge vents where the sealant had ceased to be operative. This was repaired and made good. i have since part exchanged the Inca for a slightly newer Nuevo.
