Re: Mark at AS service dept ... shame
I try to be philosophical - these things happen but I would have appreciated them telling me rather me having to discover it for myself. I’m pretty sure that the driver would notice hitting something with enough force to tear one tyre and do irreparable damage to the other. So Cymro, check the van well before and after you leave it.

Alan was taking calls and emails and he seemed a bit frazzled but he did find time to call my husband to check if I got home safely after both nearside tyres were damaged while putting the van on the ramp! They swapped the spare for the worst damaged and I had fingers crossed that the other would be OK. So now that’s another job for me to sort. Ho hum.
While your 'van is in their workshop for whatever reason, they are duty bound to look after it.
I would have thought they would be sourcing two new tyres for you as urgently as possible.
If they've damaged both tyres, then it's up to them to sort it, not another job for you.

I take your point but it’s 120 mile round trip to Willersey so I’d rather get the tyres sorted locally. They will pick up the bill (or adjust the cost of the service accordingly). I did suggest that there were lots of vans at the factory with nice new wheels that would do but I think I was pushing my luck with that suggestion!

Ok that's fine, as long as they've accepted responsibility.

Craig Trigg is the new service manager, he starts at Willersey on Monday 15th April. I wish him every success in the role.

I celebrated 10 years last month.
I like the way you say "leaving paid employment" rather than retired.
I think I know what you mean, as I often complain that I don't even get Bank Holidays off these days.
Sorry for the drift off topic.

Re: Mark at AS service dept ... shame
I’ve recently had to contact Auto-Sleepers servicing. I spoke to someone called Alan who I think is the new servicing manager.
I can honestly say that he could not have been more helpful. He helped me source parts, he advised what I needed, he discussed the job, and even offered to help if my garage needed to ring him.
I never met or spoke to Mark, but based on my experience with Alan, the servicing department is in good hands, and no one should have any worries. He went out of his way to help, both practically and with advice. I for one will be using them with no worries.

Alan Curry was Marks boss, the Customer Services Manager and is responsible for every aspect of dealing with a van after it leaves the factory, parts, warranty, service, etc. and has been at AS for over forty years.

Well as long as he remains I don’t see that there will be a problem. As I say he couldn’t have been more helpful or knowledgeable.Peter Brown wrote:Alan Curry was Marks boss, the Customer Services Manager and is responsible for every aspect of dealing with a van after it leaves the factory, parts, warranty, service, etc. and has been at AS for over forty years.

Re: Mark at AS service dept ... shame
Happy anniversary, Peter.
I celebrated my 22nd anniversary of retirement on 5th January this year Gloat Gloat.
The stupid thing has been that I have done far too much voluntary work in those 22 years!
