cam belt
Hi eyeryone.
Hope someone can help.
We have purchased a 2007 Orion Zeta Autosleeper simular to a nuevo.
It has an 2.2 -litre Peugeot engine the mileage is 65.000.
We have no details of if the the timeing chain has been changed or what mileage it should be changed?
Your imput would be greatfully received.
Thanks

Re: cam belt
My 2.2 Sussex has a Ford engine although its a Peugeot and has a chain (not a belt) and as such shouldn't need changing.

Re: cam belt
First point to find out is what engine you have under the bonnet, mine had the ford Puma engine and as such it had a timing chain so no problem and it would be my guess that is what you have. You can normally find Puma on a plate under the bonnet. If not and you have a belt driven system and cannot find any info as to when it was last changed, (ask the previous owner I would) safest to do it now.

Re: cam belt
assuming that you keep the oil clean the chain should last as long as the motorhome - unless you are one of those rare people who do huge mileages.
dirty or low oil may cause problems with the tensioner - the chain will rattle and wear hence it is important to keep the oil good, if you do that you can basically forget about the chain for at least 150 000 miles and probably more
