Free Cosmetic Roof Rails Empty Free Cosmetic Roof Rails

Post by Windychippy Mon Aug 13, 2018 11:56 am

I have removed the cosmetic rails on my van and fitted load bearing ones. Before I cut the removed bars up and dispose of I wondered if there might be someone on the site who has damaged theres and wants replacements.  These can of course be cut to fit a smaller length van. There are no fittings just the bars.

Thanks

Out of interest was this easy to do?. I have the Warwick xl and didn’t realise they are not load bearing.

Ha,ha,ha,  you need a few more bars to make it worth while with the price of Alu. being so low.  Being an ex shoplifter I can remember when Alu. was £40 per cwt.

Hi Fragle,

If your a can do guy then read[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]  from beginning to end and then decide. I would not say it's easy, but if your reasonably handy with tools then it can be done.    I bought the parts from Hillview Awnings.     IMHO I think the cosmetic rail will take some weight, it all depends what you want to load and whether you can find rails that fit the bar shape.
