Symbol for hire?
Thinking of buying a used Symbol campervan, but would like to try before buying. Any one know of any hire companies that hire these, ideally in the sw area? Thanks in advance.

Re: Symbol for hire?
I googled 'auto-sleeper hire' and it came back with an AS website linked to a company called omni-hire. The link comes up with a privacy warning, so beware of clicking on it. Don't know if they are still in business and whether AS are aware of any such link. Looking at the AS website ,I can't find any reference to them.

It does appear on AS site in News section 29/07/17, so appears legit.

I did go back through the news section but stopped just short of that date. Wonder what's wrong with their website then if still in business.PLOUGHLIN wrote:It does appear on AS site in News section 29/07/17, so appears legit.

Firefox message "omnihire.co.uk uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 26 June 2018, 15:44:13. The current time is 5 August 2018, 11:51. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE"
Wonder if they get much trade through their website.

Having an expired certificate doesn't in itself represent a threat - but if you add an exception and visit the site anyway it doesn't seem to have any content!
Maybe someone has trashed their website (certainly not unknown to happen), or maybe they have just shut up shop. Their Yellow Pages entry stated that all of their vehicles will be under 2 years old, so in terms of price, they surely must have been very expensive?

I've not looked in any detail at all, but from what I can see, Omni Hire is/was a trading name of Omni Leisure?

Symbol/Duetto hire
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've been looking online for a camper and I like the look of the older (circa 2000s) symbol and Duetto autosleepers, but I need to take a good look at one and hire one. I live in Sheffield and just cannot find any hire companies that have this vintage within the area. The closest I can find is Dorset. Does anyone know anywhere that might have one that I can take a look at or hire .. a bit closer to Sheffield than Dorset? Cheers dc
