Ups useless
Hi,
Getting a parcel delivered today, information, "by the end of the day" that's really useful, I'll just sit here all day and wait then "a signature is required" so they can't just leave it around the back then. Other carriers can give you a time slot and even show you where their van is but not ups

Hi Chris
If it helps, I was told by one delivery driver (forget which firm) that if you leave a message such as, "If not in please leave parcels in the dog kennel" and sign it, they are allowed to scan it and leave the parcel as requested.

P.S.
And by the most amazing coincidence, I can confirm that it works.
I didn't hear the door bell while typing the above post (must check that it's working) and went downstairs to find a "signed for" parcel that I wasn't expecting until tomorrow, waiting in our designated place.

My son was expecting a delivery and instead got a note, he contacted the company who said that the driver had rung the doorbell and got no answer, my son pointed out that the package contained a new doorbell he would have to unpack and install it before ringing

Re: Ups useless
I have had problems with the last 4 deliveries, every one with a different courier. Today Royal Mail delivered 4 days late.
Last Friday I had a message that the Amazon courier didn't get a reply and redelivery would be attempted the next day. Got on the phone and pointed out we were in, we have a designated safe place and no card had been left.
The operator said he would look into it, the parcel arrived a hour later.
