Trauma W 45 H
Have this warning on trauma panel. Seems to be accompanied by a burning smell from boiler. No smoke or fire, like a burning element smell?
I know it is a hot water warning likely a fuse or 2. I suspect it’s been my fault. I stuck van on charge at home, mainly to cool fridge before an overnight trip. I knew there was no water in boiler as we’ve still been having low temps at night and water was dumped.
I did close the valve when I stuck it on charge. I did not put the power on inside the van. I did not put the trauma panel on, so thought it was ok. Howver I have realised that on the sergeant thingy the lights had been on indicating water and spacer heaters were on. I presumed that until I put the trum panel on and selected water heating mode, the boiler wouldn’t work.
So the water heater light was showing on, on the pain control box but not on, on the trauma control panel. The tank was empty and I think it’s been heating an empty tank before I realised.
On site , with a full tank, the W water did heat when I selected eco on the panel, so I know element must be working, but there was a definite smell. Switched it all off and looking for any advice in the hope I can fix this. Nothing has tripped.
Thankyou all once again

Ok so figured out via manual it may be overheating protection needing reset, think it not that easy to get to it?

Lol, I’m replying to myself....when I edit posts they seem to disappear altogether. Anywaayyyyy, took off silver protective panel and stuck a mobile phone down back of boiler to see what it looked like, found reset button, stuck a screw driver in it and went through the whole connecting hookup switching stuff on etc and it worked!!! Hot water flowing and error message gone. There was some residual smell like starting an appliance from new smell but it’s gone now too.
Phew! Gin needed now

Just so the men in white coats don't take you away for talking to yourself . . . .
Nasty niffs are not uncommon. You quite often get a smell of what appears to be burning, but Messrs Truma insist that it's nothing to worry about.
Of course, they could be lying!!

Well done for getting it sorted
Not sure about all that “read the manual” stuff though, don’t see that catching on

Re: Trauma W 45 H
My method...
1. Panic! Shout and scream with many bad words. Cry with disappointment at yet another problem (very bad word preceding problem)
2. Go straight to ASOF. Get answers and help.
3. Attempt to fix
4. Read manual if all else fails
5. Scream and cry some more if not fixed
6. Phone and scream at autosleeper ,marquis, and Peugeot
Somewhere between 3 and 4 there will be the need for gin or wine or both

I kept seeing the W 45 H error but found that ignoring it was easier than working out how to get to the fuse. Have you got a switch in the wardrobe and is it turned on?

Sounds like a reasonable course of action (except for the gin bit, only resort to that if there’s nothing else left ). By stage 5 I’m usually clutching a 2lb hammer and some might consider me a danger to the public

Thats where you are making the mistake, the hammer should be applied at stage 2!

That's useful to know, Lorfal. When you "stuck a mobile phone down the back of the boiler" and thereby located the reset button, did you by any chance take a photo? Of so, can you post it, please, so that I (and others on the Forum) can see what to aim for if / when our Truma has a trauma of the same kind? Thanks.

Re: Trauma W 45 H
Ahhhh, that would have been useful.....but I did not take pic, I used reverse camera in real time ti visualise what was doing. I looked for a hole like the one autosleeper manual. It’s a big hole, lol oval shaped with a red flat button thing inside you just shove a sharp implement into.
In the fairford the back of the boiler faces the panel wall so you can’t see it.
Took a metal shelf protector thing off first, * Inappropriate Word * to get it back on when ye canny work a screw driver lol.
I will take an image in future to be sure

Not to worry! Description is useful. I gather that AS fit all Truma 6 boilers such that they face inwards. There was a reference to it in a recent thread on the Forum (Gromit, I think). It sure wasn't installed with ease of maintenance in mind!

Re: Trauma W 45 H
I just checked my 2017 Warwick. The Truma 6 is fitted in what I would call a transverse alignment facing the rear of the van.Cymro wrote:I gather that AS fit all Truma 6 boilers such that they face inwards. Depends on what you call the front of course, but the ECU (with the fuses and overheat switch) is facing the rear in open easily accessible space (once you have got the silver plate off)
Well done AS

Is the removal of the silver panel simple?Lorfal wrote:Anywaayyyyy, took off silver protective panel and stuck a mobile phone down back of boiler to see what it looked like
I don't want to take it off only to find I can't get it back on

Re: Trauma W 45 H
If it’s the same silver panel directly above the actual boiler as in the fairford, then yes. 6 screws hold it in place, easy to remove but I did find it a bit awkward getting it back. Kept getting screws on the wrong thread and the panel edges are really sharp ! Nearly cut my wrist off lol. Take note of what side goes where, I found when I put it back the wrong way[even though I didn’t think it looked different] that the holes and screws were not quite matching up
