Re: Turkish hammam towels
The only problem i had was that the supplier sent them by yodel next day service, useless yodel took two days but at least the supplier refunded my delivery charge. Why do people use yodel? Read their reviews

Yes Dave ....that's my sense of humour. But it can sometimes get you into trouble when people don't realise you are joking!

I was impressed by comments - they sound good. Have clicked on the link and it takes me to "beach towel" is that the same thing?

Yes. They are very versatile. They are now the only towels we have, at home and in the van.
There are plenty of other firms and outlets. The first lot I got were direct from Turkey. They are very good but a little too multicoloured for home use which is why I went to Rinkit/ Nicola Spring for the rest of them.
The children’s size towels are big hand towel size, the others are large bath size.

Thanks. Will give them a try. I might wait for the grey or dark nlue though so it fits in with my vans colour scheme!

Well Our Tilly. And there was me thinking I was alone in being a slave to colour coordination

Ha. Ha Bobskate, I must admit, the van is better colour co-ordinated than the house.

Sounds fair enough. You have to prioritise what is important.

Re: Turkish hammam towels
I'm both slightly colour blind, and totally lacking in colour sense, so I don't have a problem.
Well I do . . . . when Mrs Gromit stops me at the door and refuses to go out with me until I change my clothes, so I look "less like a vagrant!"!!

Re: Turkish hammam towels
Interesting. Thanks.
We’re in France at the moment and, last week, every market stall and harbourside shop on the Ille de Ré was selling them- called fouta here- for anything from 15 euros up to astronomical prices.

Might have a look st these, though we do use microfiber towels and find them excellent, it's good to have spare stuff..

Can I just thank you again for putting us on to this product.Quilter wrote:

I've given a brief outline of our recent European travels elsewhere, but what I didn't mention was what a boon these towels are for our particular van usage, moving on every couple of days. No more trying to dry heavy traditional bath towels after they've been used/washed, with only limited stop time.
We took 6 Turkish towels with us and they were brilliant, with the added bonus of only taking up the space of one normal bath towel.
My better half wasn't convinced at first, but she's a convert now..

Re: Turkish hammam towels
Thanks for letting me know this. It’s always a bit awkward if you make a recommendation and no- one likes it ! They’re a real boon for motorhomers and at home alike but, after seeing so many market stalls and shops selling them in France, I have yet to see one on sale in a shop or stall in UK.

Re: Turkish hammam towels
We also bought some for the motorhome through me seeing this post. Having just got back from a trip I can say that I thought they were brilliant. Goff still struggles with them 'not being a towel'.
Thanks.

Re: Turkish hammam towels
Just been in to have a look at them. They are not the same as the towels I have and are more like a cross between a conventional towel and a hammam towel. They have a looped cotton backing which makes them thicker than the ones we have and rather like some microfibre towels, I am pretty sure, they are a different weave as well.
Made in Turkey however so presumably a different type of hammam towel. They are £5.99 each.
