Driveway security bollard Empty Driveway security bollard

Can anyone share there experience of/thoughts about investing in a decent retractable bollard, and one without a padlock that bolt cutters might make light work of for use on the driveway, to add another layer of security for the MH?

Thanks

Just don't do what a neighbour of ours did.

He spaced several quite close together across the drive to protect his big trailer from the local gypsies, who were known to be stealing them at the time.

Unfortunately he never thought about the wide area of lawn alongside the drive, so they simply wheeled the trailer across the grass, past the bollards and away!  shrugg

I use one and find it very good, just be sure to remember to drop it before you drive into it....I drove into mine...very expensive results censored!

Please, also, consider the insurance implications.

If you tell them you have a bollard, they will require you to use it and on the day you don't and it gets stolen... well you can see where I am going.

I bought one, not installed it yet and when asked by my insurer, I said I did not want that fact included on my policy. It made a trivial difference to my premium, but worth not having to prove it was in use.

Still get the extra security without the extra worry. (or I will when I get around to installing it)
