Road tax for Sussex Duo
Hi - I've got my yearly budget all sorted now, insurance, storage etc. But I can't quite work out the road tax.
It's a Sussex Duo, registered May 2011, Peugeot Boxer, 2.2cc, and I just wondered if any current owners could let me know what the tax rate will be.
No big deal if no one can help, I'm just working out final costs before picking it up.
Many thanks
Sally

Sally, I posted this on another forum asking a very similar question...

as long as the emmisions level isnt shown on the Certificate of Conformity (and it shouldnt be for a MH) then there will be one of two charges, depending on MTPLM.
Lighter vans under 3500kg (LPGV) perversely are charged at the higher rate, currently £245 as mentioned above.
Heavier vans over 3500kg but probably under some other limit I can't remember, 7500kg?? (PHGV) cost £165 at the last count that I recall.

Hi Many thanks Chris and Peter and Paul
I was half expecting £245, so thankfully no nasty shocks there. That’s one more budget planning task completed. Not long now
Cheers

That's what I pay too, also 2011. Weirdly, those built before 2006, and Euro 4( Mine is Euro 5 so is potentially less polluting), only pay £140.
As someone said recently, Peter I think, I'd never make a politician...............thank God!

And those between Jan 2009 & Dec 2010 and Euro 5 only £140. Vehicle tax is a complete mess.

This is where the road tax is a mess. If you're over 3.5tonne then you're classed as an hgv and taxed accordingly which is stupid when in reality your van will wear out roads quicker than mine but it's a long time since the road tax was used for purpose of keeping the road network in good order. Heaven knows where they get the figures from.chrisk wrote:I cant understand why mine is cheaper than say Paulmold when i got a bigger MH on my log book don't say anything about euro 4 or 5 or 6
