Noticed when I moved van. Lying underneath front end. Not 100% sure it came from my fairford but it wasn’t there yesterday. All help appreciated.

Not urgent, when they have to pass wires from the engine bay into the rear of the dashboard a grommet protects the wire from the rough metal, just have a look and see if you can see any going through with half a grommet.
take what you have to your nearest peugeot garage and ask them, it may not be a grommet but thats what it looks like to me.
you can still use the van but get it checked out as soon as you can.

Hi Lorfal, I was going to say it looks like the first coil of a broken front suspension spring but on zooming in it appears to be made of plastic? If around 5 to 8 inches in diameter it may be part of a front suspension leg spring seat perhaps. Hard to say but I have seen that item before with the holes drilled in it??

A grommit would have the slit on the outside, not inside. Looks to be too big anyway. Says TPU why is the material, with a part number as well.

That looks like it should be around the bottom of a suspension coil spring. Maybe

Looks like it should clip over a pipe and the burnt bit would suggest somewhere near exhaust?

Don't forget to keep us updated with the outcome. If it came from your van and is a failed part then we all have the part somewhere our vans! Will watch with interest.

Heard back from Peugeot It is indeed a gold star to those suggesting it was from the suspension. It’s a part of suspension cover, and have been assured not to panic or worry. When rear door seals get replaced as soon as part arrives, they will tend to that too.
Thanks to all for the reassurances

Re: This may have fallen off van
Glad you got it sussed. This thread reminded me of a bit of mischief I once played on a neighbour who repeatedly parked part way over the dropped kerb at the top of my drive. I happened to have an old cam belt tensioning roller in my garage, and one dark evening I placed it on the road by his driver's door. Next morning I spied him pushing his car back away from my drive, then getting out his trolley jack, and with torch in hand, slithering about on the wet road under his engine..

Nice one! But there is a scam running around now where a couple show you a large oil leak under your truck. While the man shows you it, the woman nicks the contents most available................. Some real bastards around..

I'll not be taken in by that one - I've got a real oil leak!
