Camping near Jerez
I want to take the van to Jerez for the MOTOGP the first week of May. We also want to take in Granada, Seville, Cordoba on the same trip, can anyone recommend any campsites

El Rocio, south west of Seville, is worth two or three days and you can bus into Seville apparently. We haven’t done it because dogs aren’t allowed on buses.
We’re off to Granada today for a stop over so I’ll see what the site’s like.

Granada
There is a site right in Granada, bus distance from city centre but it is expensive at Euros 30 per night. Camping Motel Sierra Nevada. We went there when snow was predicted in the mountains. The alternative we have used is Camping Las Lomas in the hills above Granada, slightly hairy drive up past a dam but this site also has a bus into Granada and good views, restaurant, ACSI card recognised etc.pjonesf1 wrote:I want to take the van to Jerez for the MOTOGP the first week of May. I don't know how well attended bike meetings are but I now try to book sites before hand for car meetings. It may not be necessary but I would rather be sure of a pitch than spend my time looking for an alternative site.
It doesn't always help though. We went to a DTM race in Hungary a couple of years ago and booked a pitch at the track. When we got there nobody knew where the campsite was and we spent the next hour looking for it. As the light started fading we headed back to Budapest and got in a site there.

Hi dbroada,
I can believe that about Budapest. I worked at the circuit when F1 visited and have fond memories of the chaos.

Just to prove I am a novice, what is an ACSI card?

ACSI are one of the companies that puts sites in their books. If you buy the "out of season" listing book it comes with a discount card.
