Warwick XL and others
Just out of interest I have the water leak in the sliding door problem, which is booked into AS to sort with a new window but my question is has anybody tested the bathroom window(Warwick XL), as i've just tried mine by putting approx 100ml of water into and nothing comes out of the bottom of the vehicle, so where is it gone anybody know ?

Re: Warwick XL and others
I have checked with AS on this and apparently it lays in the cavity between the inner and outer metal skins in a gulley and evaporates !
Sounds like a good place to have some rust to me.

Not familiar with Warick XL, mine is Kemerton XL. So do I take it that your bathroom window is the offside sliding window as on all Boxers. If so then it is the same as mine but I would think that you can't take the inner skin off to check as ( it's in the bathroom ) I have had my Sliding Door window replaced by A/S last Oct. and before going I checked to see if my offside slide window was draining. Thankfully it was.
If yours is not draining then I would think that it needs replacing the same as your sliding door window. As regards A/S saying the water is evaporating, If it's a small amount then maybe but if it's raining continuous then eventually it will overflow down the back of the lining.
Mine overflowed on the sliding door but luckily I saw it.

Hi Windy
Interesting that your offside one is draining, I have to ask where too, did you see it on the outside of the vehicle ?
Mine goes in for sliding door windows replacement on the 3rd March + other things, draws opening when going round corners and awning led strip very dim + hab check.
Regards

Hi Peter
. and before going I checked to see if my offside slide window was draining. Thankfully it was.
It was draining as it should, down the outside of the vehicle.
Out of interest have you tried to clear the drain holes with compressed air. You could take to a local garage and if they have a fine nozzle on an air-line it's worth a go.

Re: Warwick XL and others
We had our side door window sorted at AS a month ago Auto Windscreens arrived 0830 on the dot done and dusted by 1030
In our case it was the seal when the windows were refitted (on conversion) after they had been tinted

Definitely a common problem. Our Kemerton XL is booked in for a sliding door window change next month ( plus a few other things). I checked the offside sliding window and can see it draining down the outside of the van. Interesting to know that it seems a reasonably quick job for Auto glass.

A/S receive the window from Peugeot that's already fitted with the drain tubes. They remove and then refit the same drain tubes but with a far better method of fixing.

Then a quick re-tint and all done prior to the clients visit. The glass is then fitted by a sub-contractor such as Auto Glass ( over and done in a giff )
Cheers Windy

Yes, mine is in for the sliding door one on the 3rd of March but i'm interested in the offside one as when I open the window after some rain it appears wet by the drain hole, however when I put some water in nothing came out which to me is a bit worrying as to where it's gone.
I will bring this up with AS when I go I think.
I will do the gas pressure blow through and see what happens.
P.S. It wasn't Mark I talked to but the service manager who stated they have done loads of the sliding door windows replacements and it was him that said about the gulley and evaporation of the water.

Re: Warwick XL and others
Thanks Windy. From what you say the problem is caused by Peugot then.
Did the leak stain the fabric on the door panel on yours? If so was that sorted too?
Bazzer.

Mark at A/S said that the original drain tubes are usually blocked with silicon from factory. He and another at A/S devised the Mark 2 improvement (no pun intended) No stains on the fabric of the lower door panel. I have also put more fabric on the centre door rail, this stops me getting the cold shoulder when turning over in bed. ( nothing to do with the wife )
