Don't know if I'll get away with this but here goes anyway!
Britstops is a good option, not a member but have see their pubs book
My most used is Moonfruit, Wildcamping.moonfruit.com. Not just pub stops and not just UK either. Really good and comprehensive, I donate occasionally to help keep it going
For Aires I'm sure you must have heard of Vicarious Media, publishers of "All the Aires" books. Use these all the time in Europe, very good and comprehensive
Occurs to me to add this mail to a more appropriate part of the Forum, so I'll do that as well!

Never had a problem with parking, just need to watch the nearside kerb when driving round tight bends at first if you are moving from a shorter van. I park in shop car parks but tend to park if possible with the rear over hanging the surrounding grass.
We love the rear lounge/bed arrangement also, so much better than climbing over each other in the night as the years go on.
You will not go wrong in my opinion with a Duo.

Re the bed (which has little to do with parking I know) can we use the double lengthways. At our age we know we will be getting up during the night ( ) and hoped we could make up the double and sleep lengthways, which although it would involve a shuffle, wouldn't require us to climb over each other.
All the adverts seem to suggest that the double bed is designed to sleep across the van; will the cushions/gaps/sizes etc allow us to sleep lengthways?
Many thanks for the help and support on here.
The layout of our van is such that it was made with the beds designed to be used as 2 singles, this is due to having the off side bed with a removable section so you can use it as an area to fit the table, hope you get my meaning. Therefore the 2 beds do not meet and leave a narrow gap between them making for a quick exit! I think sleeping across the van where possible would be tight for me at 6' 1".

The Kemerton is designed for a double bed. Can be set up as 2 singles, but choose not to do so. Must admit sleeping across the van in the double is a bit of a problem for my 6'1" height, but cuddling up to each other on a cold night compensates for any discomfort.

Re: Can I park a Warwick duo
Our vans have always been 6mtr or 6 plus a bit so we had no difference in length to worry about when supermarket parking. What did make a difference through was the width. The Warwick Duo being narrower than the coachbuilts is far easier to park

I must admit the Warwick Duo seems to fit our needs. It’s really helped getting the comments on, from people who have actually owned and driven one.

Hi, Just to add to the confusion.. We had a 6 metre p v c and swapped it for a Symbol 5.5m ( with tow bar and rack) for exactly the reason you have posted. We have found that the Symbol gives us much more freedom to park anywhere. It fits into almost all marked car park bays ( I think the smaller ones do not comply with latest specs) where our older 6m van always overhang unless there was a grass verge at the edge of the car park and more importantly the Symbol fits into metered bays in town.
In our experience lots of park and ride car parks have height barriers though a quick e mail to the town council in advance usually solves the problem. Those towns that don't give helpful advice on motorhome parking do not get the benefit of our custom.
Good luck with your new van.

We use britstops - you purchase an annual book (about £30) with the details of the pubs etc that are taking part; they are great for when you are out and about as you don't need to plan ahead just turn up and park, make yourself known to the owner we usually have a meal but you don't need to. there is also a facebbok site with reviews of the stops on it.Rolyan wrote:Those that use pubs; do you source your own, or does anybody use Britstops. We also use two other face book groups one called camping pubs the other called UK camper van- wild camping-overnight stays which have good suggestions .

On Britstops, do you ring them in advance while on the road, or just turn up and go in?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] gives UK local council info on the provision, or not, of mh spaces (or MH allowability) in that area...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] gives Europe wide overnight MH parking info, incl aires...there is also an easy to use app
each a little different, but both extremely useful

Rolyan - For most of the pubs in britstops you can just turn up but some do ask you to phone in advance ( usually those with limited space) - if so it is indicated in the book /directory. Some of the britstops have hook-ups and waste others it is just a space in the carpark, again all is indicated in the directory.
