Peugeot Boxer Vehicle battery.
Suspect that the subject battery in my 2012 Sussex Duo is not holding it's charge and may require changing. Heard so many do's and don't's on the procedures that need to be carried out when replacing the battery. Has anyone had experience doing this replacement. Thanks

Let Halfords do it I think they charge £15 (mind you, their batteries aren't the cheapest). Or the RAC will come to your home and do it, but again they are not cheap.

Re: Peugeot Boxer Vehicle battery.
I would let someone else, maybe even a Peugeot dealer do it for several reasons
1 If the battery is simply disconnected then replaced, will the radio codes be lost (do you have the radio codes, btw)
2 To prevent that, a second battery can be connected to the main battery leads, to maintain a 12v supply whilst the dead battery is removed.
I don't really know, but would be worried about the ECU etc also. I do know that if the 12v is kept live, as above, this should not be a problem.
If, like mine, it is under the passengers feet (easy enough to access by removing the AS carpet, then the floor panel) it is a heavy beast to remove, hence I'd risk someone else's back!

I would take the precautions mentioned above as they come from good reviewers, however I have read from other owners that they recommend disconnecting the battery when stored to prevent drain and the battery being discharged.
Maybe someone will be along soon to advise on the above in more detail.

Re: Peugeot Boxer Vehicle battery.
The only time you need to add a backup power supply is while upgrading the firmware in the ECU, as loss of power during the process will corrupt the process.
All of the base vehicle handbooks I've read in the last ten years have advised that the vehicle battery should be disconnected during storage. I disconnect mine on all three vehicles regularly with no ill effect. On one of the cars I am instructed (by the car) to operate the four windows in turn when the battery is reconnected to restart the system.

Changed ours two week ago with no problems with radio. The BCM has a chip that holds all the info for us.

Same here, this year and in previous years, I've disconnected the starter battery when in storage for the winter months with no ill effect. Hoping nothing changes this year when I reconnect.
