tomtom sat nav end of support?
Just had an email from TomTom today telling me that my Satnav is no longer supported from Jan 2018 and I wont be able to get any map updates (even though I paid for a years update in Sept). No warning just that's it.
My satnav is old but I would have thought a bit warning would have been nice.
I haven't upgraded as my old one still allows itinerary planning meaning I can plan a route (using Tyre) and then download it to the Satnav. This has been great for road trips and journeys. The new Tomtom cant do this.
Are there any other SatNav that let you per plan a route and then download it to the SatNav?
Really pi**d off with TomTom, love the product but the customer service is rubbish. Will not buy another one from them.
What do others use?
cheers

I had the same message from TomTom last year. I emailed them to complain and got a deal on a new one. I can p!an routes on the new one (after realising l had to sign on on the new TomTom as well). I'm very happy with the new one but if l was you ask for money back from Sept uploads plus a deal. Best if you email customer service first then see their response

So, all their sat navs now come with lifetime updates they will tell you, but that is only for the lifetime that they deem that they will stop supporting them!

I once bought a new Vauxhall that came with free annual servicing for life, but this was not transferable to future owners. They assumed the car would be traded in after 3, or at most 5 years, so the promotion would cost very little. However I kept the car for 12 years.. On the 8th year, they pointed out in the small print that they had the right to terminate the lifetime servicing contract at any time, and they did.

They do tell you this, but not nearly as clearly as they should.crosgor wrote:So, all their sat navs now come with lifetime updates they will tell you, but that is only for the lifetime that they deem that they will stop supporting them!

My TomTom is approximatly 7 years old and came with life time updates.
Tonight I decided to update it, ready for the season not having done this for about six months,
It took about 2 hours or more, but was successful.
