Hi Paul, welcome from yet another Symphony owner, (same year too 1998). Chris and I bought ours in Nov. last year, so we have only done day trips in Kent so far, but well pleased with the 'van.
Is yours a diesel or petrol like ours? Thanks to Boris, it would cost us £100 per day to pull out of our drive if we had diesel!
Se la vie!

Ah, I'm a proud Rhapsody owner myself - or at least I was until I washed it last weekend and knocked half the lettering off, now I have an Autosleeper "Pha _ odI" apparently.

Ours is the Petrol version ,we normally 'cruise' along at 55/60 mph, on a decent length motorway trip have estimated fuel consumption of 25 mpg.Do you think that is reasonable ? Though that was including some stops and starts and crawling on the M25,we had travelled up the M3 and were going to Abbey Wood camping ground east of London, which incidently we shall return to, a great location 5 minute walk to a commuter train station and a 30 minute train ride to Cannon Street station.AND you can order a Chinese takeaway to be delivered to the grounds' gate.!

Re: intoduction
My 97 Symphony is also petrol and I reckon I get 23/24 mpg irrespective of whether on motorway or urban roads, so if you are getting around 25 you are doing all right.

Yes the fuel consumption sounds about right for the speed range you stated.
Abbey Wood sounds a useful ground base, we are about 6/7 miles from there so we wouldn't use it, fancy the Chinese though!
Mike.
PS Crystal Palace campsite is also useful for 'the big town' trains to London Bridge and Victoria, it's closer in than Abbey Wood.
