Leisure battery stops charging 49%
Hi all
Leisure battery on mains hook up stops charging at 49%. Voltage shows 14v and charging current falls to zero. I guess the question is has it actually charged to 100% (and the indictor is wrong) or has it stopped at 49%. If the latter then how do i get it to fully charge?
Van is 2017 kingham
Thanks for your replies

The AH reading is not a reading or measurement from the battery, It is a calculation based on the battery size. To check the battery you will need to disconnect the mains and measure the voltage across the terminals after say 30 minuets. This gives the floating charge time to settle and give a true reading. Would point you in the direction of the Sargent web site.

Re: Leisure battery stops charging 49%
think I might be having the same problem.
My leisure battery shows 13.7v and 45% 'charged'.
On EHU it seems to switch itself over to Vehicle every now and then and I can't understand why it does this if the leisure battery is only 45% full.
Am I simply reading the information wrong?
I've read the Sargent manual twice, and the AS book, but can't spot anything obvious.
Will mine simply never display above 45% ?
Is there a way to re-calibrate it somehow so it shows 100% when charged?

Hi
There is a solution - need to fully charge then go into the config menu and set the charge at 100%. It’s the AH start parameter. But take care not to alter the other settings.

Re: Leisure battery stops charging 49%
Thanks Ian!
I've just made that change. Also while noseying around in the other settings I saw the battery was set to 110ah but I only have a 90ah battery, so I changed the setting to 90ah to match. Can't hurt can it?
I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days and report back.
Thanks again!

I did the calibration trick tonight (so there was no sun on the solar panel).
Will see how it behaves over the next couple of weeks - thanks again :)
