It was not obvious to me and I certainly did not make reference to anyone in particular!!bolero boy wrote:Ray thanks for 'being fair'....
if you read my above post, it was obvious i was replying to Liam who accused me of a 'tirade' and a 'lecture', neither were true IMHO.
But if the Cap fits.......!

Re: All batteries flat - I’m on my own
Apologies for not posting here that the issue I raised proved to be Fuse 6 blown - 20 amps. Previously a fuse had blown as well. Looks like it is related to tank heater as previous time fuse blew I was on hook-up, this time I wasn't.
I have just got access to a computer for a day or two. I do not find it easy using my mobile to find the right thread. I did not seem able to copy a post already made to pop that into the 2 other threads I posted in. May just be operator error!!! For info Librangoat is a woman - I am a practical capricorn with a Libran ascendant for those who are interested in astrolgology - otherwise, just read it as my handle! :-D

When on your phone you may find it easier to use 'classic version', I find it much easier to use than the mobile version. You can find the link to change at the bottom of the page.

That's good, leave the tank heaters alone until sorted though.

I was not going to bite with this comment but after this direct aim at me I either take one of the following two options
But firstly lets look at what I did say
Quote
You may get a better response if you had started this as a new topic and not try to piggy back on another thread
UnQuote
I then tried to help Carrie on how best to achieve this and gave her a way forward on how to introduce herself which she did
Secondly lets look on how the comment she put was worded
I really appreciated being given the info by a poster that it was better to start a new thread rather than piggy-back on another thread. :)
The ending of the sentence :) is interesting as in text speak
Quote
It means drooling, like you really like something!
UnQuote
So being somewhat peeved off by the go at me I have two options
1. I wander off into the sunset sulking and will never bother with giving advise/suggestions again
2. If people consider that I might add value to the site in future I will still try to offer any advise that I can constructively give

Re: All batteries flat - I’m on my own
We've had similar minor disagreements here in the past where people have just never come back again (Whiskey is one example I can think of), which is always a shame.
IMO there's no need to take offence. The advice was sound - open to misinterpretation by someone new to the forum maybe, but it helps a newcomer to understand how each forum works. As you say, it seems like the OP took it in the way that you meant it anyway, so I don't see any reason for anyone to get upset about it...

Hi David
I agree entirely with Mojo's comments.
In fact if you hadn't advised the OP to start a new thread, I would have done so. It's just plain common sense, and sound advice to a newcomer.
I can't see anything in what you said that could give offence, so forget it and carry on as usual.

I agree with the last two posts, so no need to go anywhere , just stay as a member David,
You only gave advice to help someone, which is what this forum is all about.
Best wishes,
Margaret

Don't worry about it Dave, I've been "blown out of the water" more than once over the years.
Don't get me wrong ,I dont mean to offend anyone, however some folk aren't on the same page as you.

Pleased to hear your batteries are now working ok.....
Also glad you found the fault, a blown fuse. May I ask how you found out it was a blown fuse?
