Re: Solar Panel output
Can you get a picture of the roof so we can see where it is and what space is left?

Re: Solar Panel output
Don't think a solar panel was a standard fit on the Gloucester, mine ,2011, doesn't have one. So it could be any size upto 120W, probably the standard extra 30W though. As PB says a picture will allow size to be estimated.

Re: Solar Panel output
On a similar note, we have a 30w panel factory fitted on our 15 Broadway. Is it possible to have it changed to an 80w, which was standard on the 16 model? And if possible how much might it cost and is it a straight forward job, I.e. straight swop using existing wiring?
Thanks.
H
Thanks.

Re: Solar Panel output
Hi harrysp, we count ourselves fortunate that our used van has an 80w panel over the 30w as advertised on this 2013 model being the direct replacement to the former Cotswold. IMO, don't see any reason why your existing wiring could not accommodate an 80w SP. See your user manual that will give maximum wattage you can take heeding the space available on the roof. Regards

Re: Solar Panel output
Hello Harrysp, earlier this year I changed the 30W panel on our 2013 Broadway for 120W panel which is the largest the solar controller built into the EC328 PSU in our van can handle.
You don't have to touch EC328, I connected to the existing wiring in the wardrobe, you can't do the connection on the roof as the wires from the 30w panel are too thin, you need to find where those wires join the harness which I think is supplied by Sargent and connect there.
I got my new panel and fitting kit from Photonicuniverse.
As paramedic says the handbook should tell you the maximum wattage the fitted controller can take and check measurements on the roof.

Re: Solar Panel output
Thanks for this. The handbook does say 120w is the maximum solar panel the controller can take. We're not very good with electrical stuff and would probably get this done by a fitter. If the existing wiring will accommodate the 80w panel then it will hopefully reduce any labour charge. Next step is to get a price- next year's task.
Thanks.
H
Thanks.
