Mirror Guards for Mercedes
Can any one advise? We have a Winchcombe A/S 2016..... I am thinking of buying these for our MH they are a tad expensive but seem of good quality, and also protect the indicators. Photo included.
These are made by Stoneman Stainless Tivertonm Devon....any feed back would be good.
Thank you in advance

Re: Mirror Guards for Mercedes
I'm sure someone will be along in a minute who has similar, I have seen them on ebay.
Can I suggest in the meantime you lubricate the folding part well with a good grease, makes the world of difference. We have been hit twice, once by Italian white van man and once by an AA truck and both times the mirrors just folded exactly as designed to do. No damage whatever!

Why did you post the identical question in two different forums?
This always leads to confusion, and makes it very difficult for others to offer cohesive advice.

Thank you Groundhog.
Gromit, I wasn't sure where I ought to post so yes, I am afraid I did duplicate. Obviously will now not do that again. Apologies.

Not a big problem June, but it means you may not get the best sequence of responses to your query.Miss DaisyMay wrote:Thank you Groundhog.

If you need help with editing, deleting or moving posts just ask the Mods. That's what we are here for.
P.S. To be strictly accurate, moving threads is easy . . . moving a post from one thread to another is risky. It's quite easy to get it wrong and mess up an entire thread, so Admin has asked us not to try moving posts.
Still not a problem since (on request) we can delete a single post or posts, so the member can re-post in a more appropriate thread.
Hope this helps

We got a set from Ebay, and they've been on there for well over 18 months now. They were quite reasonably priced as well and we think they look good too
Just checked back and we paid £37.95 and the seller was vanstyle-uk. Don't know whether they still do them, but no doubt there are others.

Re: Mirror Guards for Mercedes
Sorry, can't do that at the moment, as the MH is stored on my friend's farm. It is exactly the same shape as the back of the mirror, but instead of it being black, it's silver. We think it's good, as they are metal rather than plastic, and therefore protect better. In your other thread I see lots of people don't like the silver ones, but when we were looking, we didn't see any mirror guards for Mercedes in other than silver/stainless steel.Miss DaisyMay wrote:Thank you TravelKat....would you beable to send. Just had a look at the photo you posted; our guards are not quite like that, in your photo there appear to be 3 cut-outs for the indicator lens; our guards don't have those, they are open at that point, if you know what I mean. The indicator lenses are completely in the clear and not obscured in any way.
Another edit! I've just googled the place we bought them from, and found them again, this is the link: HERE Click on it and it will show you the photos. Hope this helps.

Same for me with the grille and my new taylormade screens arrive Friday, the vanstyle covers seem very reasonably priced from a solid company.

You may be interested in our recent experience of screen covers.
We had a SilverScreen for years, and it was OK but had seen better days. Always had to drag it down the windscreen, as it seemed a bit skimpily cut and it was easy to leave a letterbox for the peeping Toms at the bottom of the screen!
At the August Malvern Show we bought a Taylor Made (short version) and I'm very pleased with it. The depth of the windscreeen section is two or three inches more generous than the S/S so it's far easier to fit, and it's a bit thicker too with a little more padding. If it's a concern to you, it also acts as a very effective blackout, letting in no light at all through the material.
Personal preference, but I didn't like the long version so much. I move the dashboard control to shut off the external vent if there's a freezing gale. Also the T/M is currently about £40 cheaper than the equivalent S/S.
Hope this is of interest.
P.S. Just saw your post . . . . I'm preaching to the converted it seems!

We went down that road as silverscreens said theres could not be left on long term where taylormade said it was fine. Only want them as we will soon be migrating with the geese and not back until Spring.

Re: Mirror Guards for Mercedes
Yes the straps come with it, mine are the long ones too. You also get 2 magnetic hedgehogs for the doors, the screens have velcro on them, to stop the sides flapping.

mercedes mirror guards
I got mine from Parma Industries in Saxmundham Suffolk ,They do not cover the indicators but i think thats better.
They also do some other chrome Bling bits for Mercedes
I paid £49.00 for a pair and they are really good quality
Have a look at their web site but don't get carried away like I did
Kind regards

Re: Mirror Guards for Mercedes
Back to mirror guards: those are identical to ours purchased from Vanstyle in March 2016 for £37.95. They've gone up a couple of £, so IMHO still excellent value.
OH says: put extra adhesive tape on before putting in place, and make sure all is clean before applying.

Re: Mirror Guards for Mercedes
Thank you everyone for your replies to question...Needless to say I am more confused than ever !!!
However I will endevour to make a choice.
What I am not sure is the guards with the silver across the indicators, I do wonder if they are legal as they must give off a strange flashing amber glow!!!
Thank you all again

Did you click on the link I gave you in my earlier post? Those guards do NOT have the silver across the indicators, as I explained in that post. They are identical to the picture ploughlin posted. If you missed that link, HERE is the link again.
They are very substantial, and judging from other posters, we're not the only ones to have purchased those from Vanstyle.
