Re: Mercedes V6 Engine
This forum https://sprinter-source.com/forum/ seems to have many more serious problems with the V6 than the I4, though being US based they use more V6s.

Re: Mercedes V6 Engine
If you are buying new, I have been told that in Canada and the US the 4 cylinder sprinter is no longer available on 2018 Sprinters. Whether this will happen in Europe I have no idea but isn't there rumoured to be a new model out next year for 2019 with a redesigned engine and potentially a hybrid version?
If you want more power you could always stick with a 2.2 and add a brabus conversion, not the cheapest option but makes quite a difference and should not have any insurance change.... well mine didn't anyway!

Hi everyone
thanks for all the info, the motorhome I am thinking of is an Autotrail Cheyenne 720S at Marquis at East Sussex I think it is a bit overpriced In 4 years time when I may not be able to drive a 3880kg motor I do not want to find I have a dinosaur that nobody wants at a value of half what I paid for it
regards
Alan
PS I still love Autosleepers but cannot find what I want

Hi Alan
There will be a lot of us in the same boat regarding weight, maybe we should all start lobbying now to get the limit raised once we have left the EU.... assuming it is an EU rule! I wouldn't worry about it if that is the van you want just do it! Good luck.

Re: Mercedes V6 Engine
When you get to 70 you lose the category C1 licence enabling you to drive up to 7.5 tons, then you are limited to 3.5, if you renew your licence and having a medical and passing you can retain this part, this you have to pay for, medical I mean.
If it is renewed automatically either through the post office or on line you will get the lower limit. you have to apply for the higher category.
Hope you can understand this, when notified by post and then just renew it you will lose it.
Best regards,
Margaret

On a good day our 2010 IH Mercedes with auto box, 3.0 V6 would do 22mpg more usually 18.
