Just looked at a 10 plate Nuevo EK. Only 15k miles, really good condition. Only problem is the dealer - Three ways Abergele. Google reviews not good. Can't find any other reviews on this dealer. Anyone had dealings?

Hi Paul
You don't have to like him to take advantage of a good deal, and you are obviously clued up and shrewd enough to make sure he doesn't put one over on you.
You're looking to get a new van, not a new best mate!!

Hi there I have a friend in North Wales who has dealt with these dealers and he would not entertain them again. It was not serviced properly would not honour the guarantee and did not get a very friendly response when he complained about the way he was treated. i hope this helps.

Thanks, it was the after sales I was most concerned about. They only offer 3 months own warranty.
The Google reviews criticize the sales lady but she was extremely pleasant with us.
Nuevos of that age seem very rare for sale and being our nearest dealer I am/was tempted but whether I want to risk having a battle to get a problem sorted is not something I'm keen on.

Own warranty may not be good news Paul. If it's one of those insurance company jobs it may not be worth the paper it's printed on, and if the bloke is a charlatan you are relying on his word and good nature.
I still wouldn't dismiss it out of hand though. If it's a good enough deal (on a fairly rare van, as you say) you could mentally factor in a couple of thousand quid extra for unforseen problems. If the asking price plus that extra two thousand is still a good deal, I think I would go ahead.
The Nuevo is very familiar to you, and you've been reading about every possible problem they have on here far longer than I have, so who is better qualified to assess and evaluate the deal.

You can Chris.
Those are the ones that several members have had serious problems with. (Grammar!!!! )
I don't know if they are all the same, but some of them are reported to have so many exclusions that you may as well not bother.

Re: Just viewed a Nuevo
It's not insurance backed warranty, it's their own. Same as Cotswold but Cotswold have a great reputation. Adding an extra £2k would make it expensive compared to others on Autotrader. Their part-ex estimate (without seeing mine) was pretty good, midway between the others we have had. They have been in business for many years (car dealers as well) and we have passed them hundreds of times (right on A55) and have looked around a few times but they've never had more than half a dozen vans in stock. Suddenly they have a couple of dozen, mostly new (Autotrail and Tribute) and have gone into the hire business as well. Decisions, decisions ???Gromit wrote:Own warranty may not be good news Paul. I presume you've thought of phoning Frank to see if he has anything in the pipeline.
If you are not in a tearing hurry he would look out for one, and he does get quite a few taken in for part ex.

Paul, you could always buy the Neuvo and tell the guy that, should there be any problems, you will be back with your mates from ASOF (think Dad's Army) to sort him out

Yes good idea. I don't have any hesitation telling salesmen that any problems will be aired on this forum.Askit wrote:Paul, you could always buy the Neuvo and tell the guy that, should there be any problems, you will be back with your mates from ASOF (think Dad's Army) to sort him out
I've actually found some excellent reviews for the Threeways group as a whole but for the moment It's on hold as her indoors wants to see a similar age ES to compare. Seeing as they are even rarer, I can't see us changing just yet.

Frank is owner of Cotswold Motorhomes. We bought our current Nuevo from him at the Malvern show in 2013.

Several members on here have bought from Cotswold. They gave us the best part-ex out of 3 dealers there and their service is great. Family business, Frank, his son and wife. Plus most of his staff (sales and service) are ex-AS staff.Heanorboy wrote:Paulmold wrote:Frank is owner of Cotswold Motorhomes. We bought our current Nuevo from him at the Malvern show in 2013.

Some of us have had four from Frank, and frankly (Arrrrggghhhhh!! Sorry! ) I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.Paulmold wrote:Several members on here have bought from Cotswold. As Paul said, customer support is second to none. If anything goes wrong, Frank, who is so laid back he's almost horizontal) says, "Bring it along. We'll fix it for you."

We've all been there, the excitement of securing a new (brand new or otherwise) van that conjures up the great camping experience for the future. IMHO, it is important that your 'pride of ownership' is also endorsed with assured confidence of excellent after sales service underwritten with a period of warranty from the dealer.

Hi Paul ,Barrie Mynydd isa here ,i noticed that Neuvo a few weeks ago in Abergele while killing time while a friend was in a local hospital ,it was quite tidy but as i have a Broadway and love it ,the point i was wondering was the 3 month warranty as if you bought it and a few days later you or you wife had an accident or such and were unable to use it for 3 months you would be stuffed ,i say that as on a trip to Lincoln in mid May my wife tore her achilles tendon and only last week got out of a large walking boot and using cruches so have not used our MH for almost 3 months except short runs to warm the engine up (20+ miles ),by the way bought mine from Hartleys in E/PORT 12 months ago first day out the rear number plate fell of in Anglesey replaced that week and i have not been near them since and have done 3200 miles ,

Hi Barry
We only got 3 months warranty from Cotswolds but as we were buying in October, Frank extended it to 6 as he appreciated we may not get much use in 3 months over winter. I mentioned that to Threeways but it fell on deaf ears.
Popping in to V4L in Prestatyn tomorrow as they have a 2012 Broadway, a bit above our budget but you never know.
