Spinflo Caprice 2020 Cooker door glass

We had a little accident  and unfortunately broke the glass in the oven door! it's a Spinflo Caprice 2020 cooker and according to Leisure Spares, the glass parts are no longer available! has anyone come across this and found a solution! 

I seem to have asked for a part that is now no longer available!  looks like I will have to change the cooker for a new one! can anyone recommend a company or shop that could sort this for me? hopefully within a short trip from Warrington.

Have you tried O'Leary's, or perhaps a caravan/motorhome breakers? A new cooker will not be cheap, assuming it will fit in the same orifice????

Unfortunately with built-in ovens you would have to get one ~exactly~ the same size or there would be modifications needed to the cabinet it fits in.

It may be easier to try to find a secondhand part than to try to fit a new, different model.

Have you tried contacting Spinflo to see if they make a current model that is exactly the same size (assuming of course that Spinflo are still in business - that should be easy enough to check)?

I have looked all through the internet! nothing seems to be available! I can buy all spares for the cooker just the glass parts are obsolete! Spinflo are still in business! I think it's now part of Thetford.

Why don't you get a piece of glass made to measure you can get it toughened, and made to any shape.

 I have thought about this!  but with the glass being smashed I would need find  complete one to make a template ! also the glass would have to be drilled  to take the handle before it was toughened! and also finding somewhere that will take this on.

I have contacted Thetford and asked for information about glass replacement or suitable replacement cooker! if I knew some one with the same cooker I could take measurements myself.

This company have some spinal doors might be worth having a look you can send the plate details i.e. model number and all that.
They have one that just says spinal doors

They are called caravan breakers but they do motorhomes as well and stock new as well as used spares. A very helpful firm to deal with both on the phone and when you order from them. Enormous stocks.

Or you could start a new fashion for two-tone appliances......

Offer them a small contribution if they would measure the glass for you....?

I'd take measurements and photos of our 2040 door if required, no contribution needed, you could ask spinflo if they're the same size?

EDIT: As parts for the 2040 seem to be available still.

Would that stop you getting it in preference to a new cooker which would cost an absolute fortune, and probably wouldn't fit.

They are asking £300 for a cooker that's over 12 years old! I don't think so!

I misunderstood. I thought you meant they had a door that was the wrong colour, hence my comment.

300 quid!! Even Bruce Forsyth made better jokes than that!! 

Just a thought. I don't suppose you could be lucky enough to find a bit of glass the right size from a wood burning stove?? They come in all shapes and sizes, and I bet there's a heatproof adhesive that could fix a handle.

Worth checking out perhaps. 

I have emailed Thetford  to see if they can help with alternatives! 

I have found a glass company that can help! just need the measurements to get one cut to size!

Can you get the width at least from the other two glass doors, then extrapolate the height from the clearance to the frame on the other two doors?

Presumably you still have the handle for that measurement?

I'm still wondering whether the 2040 has the same sized doors.

Could you measure the oven door and the bottom pan doors for me please! I found two Ravennas  on the internet within 20 miles! both have been sold! 

I have the same cooker,
Door itself 48cmx 305cm

The window in the door front is part of the front ...all glass , clear in the middle, it is all one piece.

Inside at the back  of the door is a straight piece of glass , 313cm x 270 cm is this the part that is broken, or the door itself?

Here's our 2040:



The doors are, from the top down:

480x127 Grill
480x296 Oven
480x260 Pan Store

The handle is screwed on from behind through a hole at each end of the door, about 25mm down from the top edge.
