Latest Van Colour - Golden White Or Brown ?
My van is described in the Auto-Sleeper brochure as 'golden white', however AS have recorded the colour with DVLA as 'brown', which to my eyes is nowhere as accurate a true description of the colour as 'gold'. I can see the closeness to beige, but gold is a recognised colour with DVLA, so I'm not sure why they didn't use it.
I wouldn't have bothered contacting DVLA just to request a colour change on the V5, but as I'm currently uprating the van's maximum and rear axle weights, I thought I might as well complete the colour change section and have it all done in one go.
I received a voicemail earlier from DVLA, confirming that they were in the process of changing my weights and would submit the relevant change of taxation notification for me, but they could only change the colour description on the say so of Auto-Sleeper.
So brown it shall stay

Thanks Paul, I missed that one. I'm still a bit intrigued as to why I can't advise them that the colour is incorrect and have it changed on my say so.
If I take it to a paint shop and produce a receipt that shows I've had it sprayed golden white, I bet they wouldn't need to go back to AS to confirm it.
Ken.

I wouldn't flap too much about it Ken. My Duetto is listed on the V5 as white and every AS owner knows none were ever finished in white!

Huh! In the 1970s I was the proud owner of a new Volvo 343. It was officially "red copper metallic". In due course it returned from its first MOT (through which it flew) and in the section on the certificate showing "Colour" the tester had written "rust"! I was miffed.
