Nuevo bathroom tap loose

Our bathroom tap is loose. The whole mixer tap rotates rather than just the spout. The spout will rotate but the whole thing prefers to move.

I say bathroom, of course I mean store cupboard. Is this a simple diy fix while away or should I wait until I get home to add it to the list of things I want Marquis to do when they have it back for its first habitation check?

To save me looking for my paperwork, would you expect this to be a warranty claim?

Not only as a warranty claim but an acknowledgement by the dealer to continue to provide good after sales customer service that promotes your satisfaction and enjoyment. My apologies if this comes across as a lecture.  Regards

I should think it would be a warranty issue. My guess is that access to the underside of the sink is gained through the "letterbox" on the back of the movable shower panel, which is attached by self tapping screws. If nothing is leaking, and the tap movement tolerable, I would leave it to the dealers to fix.

Run your fingers under the swing wall unit to check that you have not got water there. It could be being soaked up by the rubber matting. If your rubber matting is like ours then it holds a lot of water before you notice it.

But this is Eastbourne Marquis. One year on and we still don't have the black plastic cover that fills the table leg socket.

Quilter, thank you, I'll check and Ask it, it's working ATM so ignoring it comes easy.

The letterbox cover comes off quite easily Dave, then you can see fairly clearly what's going on inside. (Much easier for those of us who are vertically challenged! With my size and vintage I had to get into positions that hurt for days afterwards! )

Getting the swine back on was not so easy. I had a heck of a job to find the original screw holes, but did so eventually as I didn't want to make new ones. It would be worth marking the top of the panel before you take it off, as it looks (but mine wasn't) perfectly symmetrical.

Dave.. We had exactly the same thing with the bathroom tap and it was done by the dealer under warranty. (2016 Broadway)

Thanks for all the comments. I haven't yet looked for leaks but I'm developing webbed fewer atm so it's difficult to distinguish between internal leaks and the damp atmosphere surrounding us.

If I don't find any leaks I will leave it to Marquis, hopefully the same day as our hab check. If I do find a leak I at least now know how to access the fitting.
