Overhead lockers Warwick XL
I'm buying a new warwick Xl 2017 model. After our first inspection we handed a list of faults to the dealer to attend to prior to handover. After a number of further visits to inspect the van we still have 1 outstanding fault. The overhead lockers have a silver inlay in the door which refuses to align with its neighbouring door. The salesman has tried swapping the door from other vans but is still unable to resolve. I did hear from one salesman that Autosleeper is discontinuing the doors with the silver inlay because of the aliment problem. A tow bar and alarm has been fitted to the van and a part payment of £22000 paid.Have owners of this van or other similar models suffered this same problem with the doors not aligning. These locker door are right in your eye line so the fault is very much on veiw.

Yes ours are a bit iffy some of the doors are a slightly different shape to others, I choose to ignore it and enjoy being away.

We had this problem too. It was pointed out when we first visited the van pre-collection date yet wasn't rectified when we went to collect. Cynic in me says that they were hoping we would let it go in the excitement of getting our van. That wasn't going to happen!
Anyhow they managed to fudge it as, on our van, there are two slightly smaller cabinets on either side of the microwave and it was one of these that was out of alignment. By swapping them over the 'odd' door is isolated and the fault doesn't show.

Hi Chalkeywhite, welcome to the sometimes frustrating world of Autosleepers! I know it is no consolation but all our doors were out of alignment in one way or another too. I have spent the last year working my way through them trying to shim out the hinges to align the doors and drawers. There is little / no built in adjustment in our hinges.I'm afraid from our experience and others it is all too common. My experience has been that the basic design of the van is good but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired especially when furniture is built to millimetric precision on cnc machines on most van interiors these days leaving no excuse for poor build quality.
As others have said dont let one small issue put you off but I understand fully how you feel . At some point someone at the factory will wake up and smell the coffee otherwise customers will vote with their feet....

Re: Overhead lockers Warwick XL
When we bought our van new, we noticed that the two overhead locker doors above the kitchen area in our Broadway were seriously out of alignment. These are the locker doors made of diffused Perspex and wood trim top and bottom. The reason why they couldn't be aligned was that the three sections in one of the doors had been glued together at the wrong angles, making it impossible for them to line up. Mark acknowledged this and simply replaced the cr-- door and hey presto it lined up! It is sad to see that poor finishing off by the AS factory is still going on! Oh I have just remembered, all our silver strips on the doors and drawers were still covered in very sticky tape on the surface. It took me ages to carefully clean them off with white spirit! Why wasn't this done by the factory or noticed by the dealer during the pdi check! These issues were minor compared with the rest of the snags we have had during the first two years, fortunately all sorted within the warranty period. It has been very frustrating to say the least. Having said that, we are now pleased with the van, and have been so grateful to Mark at the AS Service Centre, as he has been so helpful and understanding in getting all these issues resolved.
Chalkywhite, we feel for you, and hope you get your problem sorted.

Thanks for the reply's. Dealer tried a number of time to improve the alignment of the locker doors. I finally had to except they had done their best and it was a big improvment from were we started. We are due to pick up our Warwick XL on Saturday 13th may. Originally ordered van 6 month ago at the NEC October show. Its been a long journey.

Park up somewhere nice and look at the view Chalky. You'll soon forget about the doors.
Your thread prompted me to go out and look at ours. They don't line up either but I had never noticed. Don't think it will keep me awake though as they open and close quite efficiently, and the push buttons haven't got stuck - yet!!
A long wait as you said, but you're getting it in time for the best part of the season. Have fun!
