Aquaroll water carrier pump?
Hi folks. This is my first MH, and am kitting it out for the first overnight on NYE! My MH (2003 AS Nuevo) has a standard water filler - i.e. similar to a pertrol cap. In the absence of a hose, will this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Whale-Submersible-Portable-Pump-Kit/dp/B003EG8RMK/ref=pd_sbs_263_22?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=6DMH0F8J8FVXHXAY3VK5 work with an Aquaroll barrel, to fill the van with water? Other vans we have hired have either a specialist filler socket, or a 12v socket near the filler cap for plugging a pump into. I like the fact that this will connect either through the Lighter socket or directly to battery.

A friend of mine has same set up and works fine. A cheaper option would be to buy the pump and make up the wires and pipe yourself.

Yeah, I know, but have to say I'm not confident in these matters - 12v has always been mischievous to me!! Thanks for the prompt reply!Jaytee wrote:A friend of mine has same set up and works fine. A cheaper option would be to buy the pump and make up the wires and pipe yourself.

I almost always fill up on site that way (not aquaroll but a Fiamma wheeled container). I made my own pump/hose,/cable arrangement with an extension cable to reach inside to the socket above the fridge. Probably cost about a tenner plus the extension cable.

Are you just going for one night? I always fill up before I leave home. I find a tankful of water lasts two of us 3 days, and that's being lavish..

Like all the above, I made my own set up, certainly less that half price of the above and works a treat. I don't have an Aquaroll just a 5 gallon that I sling in the trailer. I also carry a short length of hose to couple to a tap.....

Re: Aquaroll water carrier pump?
Just catching up with the postings post-Christmas. I also use an aquaroll/pump combination to fill the tank at home as my Legend is parked in the road and a long way from any tap. The 12v lead goes through the window to the 12v socket above the fridge, as others have said. A word of warning, the plugs for these sockets are becoming harder to find, my local caravan dealer has none left as I believe the Australian company that made them has either discontinued them or gone bust. I've seen other dealers still with supplies so if you are thinking along these lines better make sure you can get a suitable plug.
