main engine battery
Hi, I have 3 batteries on my ascot , 2 leisure and one main battery. One leisure under rear seat in the lounge area and 2 batteries under the drivers seat. Can someone confirm the main battery is the one at the front of the seat . Thanks paul.

Re: main engine battery
On my Windsor, on a Ford Transit base, I have two batteries under the driver seat. Oddly enough, the leisure battery is to the front!

OK, thanks for the info . seems strange it's looks like mines at the front because I've put a trickle charger on to the front battery hoping it's the right one . it's easier to get to for the crocodile clips on .Paul.

Re: main engine battery
The battery under the seat with the starter battery is what Ford term as Auxiliary Battery which looks big for what it does, supply to emu, cab radio, alarm etc, leaving the starter battery to do just that.
AS have been known to use this battery as a leisure battery which is not what Ford intended

Re: main engine battery
Just to add to the comments our Transit based Rienza has a large leisure battery under the drivers seat at the front and a normal vehicle battery under the drivers seat at the rear. When the solar panel was fitted they fitted an extra leisure battery under the passenger seat and swapped the Ford auxillary battery for a large leisure battery
This was done during the first year of the vans life and seems to work ok. The only thing I have changed is the vehicle battery," it was 8 years old," and fitted a battery master.
