Trustworthy dealership
Hi newbies here again. We are travelling to Yorkshire/Derbyshire on Monday to look at used motorhomes, I have got one or two recommendations regarding good dealerships from the forum are there anymore trustworthy dealerships in the above area anyone could recommend .
I have been reading some scary stuff particularly to do with Brownhills at Newark!!
Is anyone in the Forum thinking of selling a van conversion with rear lounge preferably automatic in the near future. By the way any thoughts on Timberland vehicles.
Thanks Mike

See you are from Wolverhampton. Try Morans Motorhomes at Ludlow which isn't too far from you. Very trustworthy. I bought mine off them. Give them a ring.

Mmm, I thought they were OK until they let me down in not promising to ring when the 'van we wanted came in and sold. They also tried it on by telling me we had a damp problem on our Nuevo and offered us 4 grand less than what we got elsewhere.
Take as you find, obviously,

We popped into Moran's a few weeks ago in the Nuevo. They have very little used stock but we looked around. They were dealing with another customer when we arrived but after that customer left, we were ignored and they went back into their workshop. We continued to look around (they had several new AS's on show) but still no-one came to speak to us. I know most people don't like the hard sell but with no-one interested in us at all, we left.

If you can I can recommend Spinney, it is a way for me to go, I am in Leicestershire, so possible for you too, but I was pleased with my purchase and also after sales, I was looking for a particular model which are thin on the ground, mostly you have to travel to find your ideal van, rarely is it on your doorstep. Also it is one of the few dealers where you get twelve months warranty, base vehicle as well as habitation side.
Good luck with your search.
Regards,
Margaret

Glad it's not just us then. We called in once and the whole staff were in the reception area celebrating one of their birthdays, eating cake. Totally ignored us.
I don't know if I was more offended that they didn't want a deal or the fact that they didn't offer me a piece of cake!

I can't comment on this dealer but I've come to the conclusion that I am invisible in car dealers. I prefer to be left alone so that is ok but when you have to ask another customer to attract a salesman's attention there is something wrong.
My fingers are also invisible to touch screens. This makes a visit to our doctors surgery a pain. I bet they are not invisible to everybody else's germs lurking on the screen though.

Hi Margaret thanks for your comments I think you are spot on with saying we will have to travel to find what we are looking for..felt like we had travelled half the glob this weekend looking...still looking!daisy mae wrote:If you can I can recommend Spinney, it is a way for me to go, I am in Leicestershire, so possible for you too, but I was pleased with my purchase and also after sales, I was looking for a particular model which are thin on the ground, mostly you have to travel to find your ideal van, rarely is it on your doorstep. Re: Trustworthy dealership
Hi
Apologies for he late entry into this conversation but I have been on holiday. We live in West Yorkshire but purchased from Spinney in Cheshire as they are our closest AS dealer but also because we had done some research and found that people on the whole had been happy with them. We have had a good experience to date. The purchase and handover in August was straightforward. We have had to run back a couple of times for small things but if possible, Spinney will try to avoid us doing unnecessary journeys by doing as much info gathering and diagnosis by phone and email as is possible. They have also been good at fitting us in at a reasonable time so that we avoid rush hour traffic. They can be a little tardy in returning phone calls but on the whole, a good experience.
Good luck with the purchase.
