Gas oven

Developed a problem with subject oven . One gas ring will not light up, although the spark generator chatters away but no flame. Will light up fine with a match. It appears that these have a flame failure device, but not sure if this item is the problem. Appreciate any advice from anyone that has suffered the same proble.

So you are saying the problem is simply it wont light using the spark generator?

Usually it's just when there's some dirt/grease or something reducing the effectiveness of the spark. I would give it a bit of a clean with a small wire brush, similar to if you were cleaning spark plugs.
